I'm working on the UNIMOG from Revell in 1:35 scale.

http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/538120rev03082.jpg

There is a lot of work because the kit is not accurate at all.

Other than accuracy, how is the fit and detail on the kit?
Thanks

Thats a bizarre gun set-up. What is the purpose of the 'rods' that run parallel to the gun?

Thanks for sharing in such an unusual vehicle.

I'm still plugging away on my M966 TOW Carrier.

Here is the mostly complete chassis. I will have a little bit of finish work to do after I get the vehicle body on.

Here are a couple of progress shots of the vehicle body.

You can see my complete build log here:

Steph.

Great job on the M2A1. What kit is it; the 1/35 Commanders Series model?

Hi all,

Just started a M151A2 FAV in 1/35 (Kirin "Super Jeep" conversion and Tamiya M151A2).

It's for a "Special forces vehicles" group build on a French forum.

Haven't done much yet.

Cheers,

Christophe

Hi Christophe. Definitely keep us up to date on this project as the FAV is one of my favorite vehicles. Plus, I have the Kirin Conversion too and want to see how you "handle it".

Hi Patrick, I think I'll do a proper thread when the project is finished. Normally I'm not allowed to discuss my build so much outside that French forum until the GB is closed...

I take this opportunity to thank you for your very thorough review of Squadron's "M151 Mutt in action", I'm going to buy a copy from a Berlin bookstore in a few hours.

Cheers,

Christophe

Christophe. No worries about you posting a "build thread" later. I understand.

And, glad to hear you thought my Mutt book review was worthwhile. It really is a nice book, especially for the cost (even priced in Euro too).

Still working on fiddly details like the gun mounting and things we had to take shortcuts on to keep the project moving.

The last part I worked on that I have photos of is the right hand gun side plate. This cycles the breech open with a slot that actuates a follower on a bell crank arm. As the breech recoils with the gun the follower is lifted up and opens the breech. When the gun returns to battery it then as a clear path forwards. This casting has two parts that install to make up the ramped slot.

Geez Ryan; Make us all feel jealous now. What a beauty!

Maybe next time I'll have to state my question as "What Wheeled Vehicle MODELS are you working on?" .

Well, the make is a Humber, the Model is the Mk IV Armoured car.

We just have a bigger bits box, a larger exacto knife (gotta cut gaskets out with something!), and a lot more model paint.

We've actually been painting individual parts with the small cans of rattle can model paint because we can get the right color over the primer right off the cuff. We did have to mix up our own Eau du Nil but I did that a while ago. Fittings like the POL Can carriers, headlights and other fiddly bits got painted as components and set aside.

[quote]Hi Gents.

Since I've not asked this question in awhile, I figured I'd do so again: What armored car/wheeled fighting vehicle models you all working on?
I'm currently painting and finishing a Marmon-Herrington Armoured Car and Indian Pattern Carrier. Found some video footage online of the two of them operating together, with Indian crew.

Since John is in my local AMPS Chicagoland modeling club chapter, I've seen his models up close and they are even better looking in person. Hopefully, when he's finished I will have some pics to put on WarWheels.

For a group-build on a French Forum, I'm building CMK's Typ 82E "Beetle" in the upgraded edition (separate resin door and figure).

I'm adding SKP resin wheels as the plastic wheels are the weak point of the kit IMVHO.

Cheers,

Christophe

I'm working on the Miniart AEC Mk.II. I have the hull and 85% of the suspension / drive train completed. Lots of great detail.

Any idea what colour the actual engine components would be?

Thanks

Hi,
I work on a TPz Fuchs (Fox) in Braille (http://armorama.com/forums/202500&page=1) which is in need of some more color and weathering. Then another Fox in 1:35 started with everything you can buy at the aftermarket and in mind an ABC Fox in israeli colours (a few were lend from Germany to Israel during the first gulf war).
And if these softskins count as well: almost ready is a M151 (http://armorama.com/forums/203114&page=1). It will be replaced soon by ajust started Tamiya Jeep.

Happy Modelling

Michael
