The Armorama Staff are proud to announce the winners of the March 2012 Model of the Month sponsored by Dragon Models.

A total of 278 votes cast this month

In first place and our Armorama Model of the Month: Paul Toma with his 1/35 Tiger 1 late 20.5% (57)of the total votes.

In second place: Roman Volchenkov with his 1/48 Staghound Mk. III 19.4% (54) of the votes.

In third place: Tomasz Bajer with his 1/35 GMC BOFORS 19.4% (54) of the votes.

For the first time we have had a tie for 2nd place, and with both models showing a very high standard, it was a difficult choice but in the end I gave 2nd place to the smaller scale model as I felt the modeller had achieved extraordinary results on such a small kit.

The top two entries also go forward to the December Model of the year contest but as we have a tie for 2nd all three models this month will go forward to the December model of the year contest.

Awesome entries-- it really is tough to pick a winner each month!
(Keith, before the outcry begins, you've got a typo-- 20.5% of 278 is 58 votes. You wrote 38 for first.)
Thanks everyone for sharing your builds!

Thank you all!
I'm glad my tiger turned nice in the end.

@irekfm

I used milliput and the AFV zimmerit tool. Also, against milliput stickiness I used plenty of sunflower oil...I just dipped the zimmerit tool in oil.

Hi Paul,

I'm not the fan of these big cats, but your Tiger is truly amasing, and a very inspiring work. I have checked your build log, and this zimmerit technique is very cool, I have to try it in the future.

Well done domnule!

Regards,
Istvan

Well done, and sympathy to Tomasz, what a close vote.

Paul's Tiger reminds me of a painting by Graham Coton, some may recall he was one of the artists in War Picture Library Comic.
