Thanks for the review and test drive, Kevin. I've had several of the AK brushes for a while now and they paint as well as my Winsor & Newton Series 7 brushes at a fraction of the price. They seem stiff at first, but do not leave brush marks, and hold their shape. They are well made and an excellent value. I like the long orange handles, too. Makes for a balanced brush and easy to see in the brush rack. I've used the AK brushes for acrylic paint coats and AK enamel weathering products and they perform well for both. I give them a big thumbs up!

I accept that these look to be good brushes for the price, I can see a samll amount of seperation on the round brush but otherwise looks good. I also like the idea of the longer handle if for no other reason than my habit of holding them in my mouth/teeth. I hope that at some point in the future they release a "Premium brand" using better quality bristles which hold their shape better.

We're always looking for a good brush or set of brushes. What I'd like to see in a review is a brush with both enamel and acrylics on a plain sheet of stock styrene. No texture to the base, no nothing...flat, smooth surface.

Dip it, lay it, run it down the stock....see how it really performs. If the reviewer can, toss in the quality of draw with different brands (MM, Tamy, Val, Hum....).

Use it, clean it, use it, clean it....et al.

My pfenning's worth.

Mike
