There seems to be variations of the hull MG mount. You can see the cutouts here.

Very nice review, Jeff.

Even with the warts, this looks like a pretty good kit of a very unusual subject. I'm tempted to want to build one myself.

Thanks!

I apologize for my poor choice of words, Gary. I didn't mean to imply there are no indentations on the real vehicle. I should have written "...the hull MG mount has deeper, more pronounced indentations on each side instead of the more smooth, rounded indentation shapes of the actual part." Thank you for pointing out my error, otherwise I hope you found the review useful.

I did find in my research that there are some Type 60 APCs with a totally different Hull MG mount, but I could not determine if there was a "Type 60 A1" version or if these were on one of the variants. Actually, I'm not even sure it was a Hull MG, since the entire bulge is different and the "barrel" doesn't look like any MG barrel I remember seeing. These two images from http://rightwing.sakura.ne.jp/ show you what I'm referring to:

Thank you, Mike. This kit is fairly nice even with the few issues, and is quite different from most subjects the model companies market. Hard to find information on it, especially if you cannot read Japanese.

Thank you for your kind words, Dave.

This kit is the only model I've been working on for the past couple months. Slow going trying to make a few corrections to the kit as I noted. See you in a week and a half.
