Hey guys I was just wondering if there was any intrest in a campaign highlighting Japanese armor? The guidelines would be pretty open, any era, any war, can have wheels, tracks, ships, subs, planes, anti tank/anti aircraft, main battle tanks.

Open to any scale as well, diorama's with other countries is ok as long as their is one item from the Japanese military involved.

I'm thinking that campaign time would be 6 to 8 months.

sounds like a good idea (especially since I had the same a while ago... )

So it's basically not a Japanese Armor campaign but a Kitmaker wide Japanes Campaign, right?

I'm in, depending on the time frame (next year earliest). Got two Finemolds tanks and one or two fighter planes.

Cheers!

There is a Land of the Rising Sun campaign starting in March on Aeroscale. That's currently aircraft only, but if there is enough intrest and the mods agree it could be changed into a kitmaker wide campaign.

Or the two could be kept the two apart, I'm easy either way.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I was thinking maybe keeping it just armorama, but hey if it makes more sense to make it a kit maker network campaign across all the boards, and or combine them, they hey I'm all for that!

What do you guys think? and what are you guys thinking for a time frame? as far as start date and end date?

I'm in. I have all sorts of unbuilt Japanese armour, and this would give me the excuse I need to build some of it!

I'd certainly be up for it. I've only ever done one Jap tank and it was years ago. Would love an excuse to do another one or two.

Almost ALL of the WWII Japanese armor was not considered a MBT...

... so maybe it should just be called "Japanese Armor"?

Some time after Christmas would work for me. As far as length is concerned I don't really have a problem whatever you decide.

Well, this has certainly NOT taken off like I thought it would, so if Mr. Houle doesn't mind I'd like to try to get this off the ground by either taking over and or injecting a few changes.

How about Just WWII Japanese Armor Campaign? There are SO MANY kits out now (and new ones) that we most certainly can get 10 interested in it. I know I will have to toss a coin for I have more than I would like to admit in my stash... but I do love Japanese armor.

I suggest and would accept even tankettes too. Just no modern amour or tractors, no soft skins... just the little tanks with gun on board!

So what do you think guys? Let's give it a whirl and build some tiny tanks!

Having recently acquired one of those dragon Ka-Mi Type 2 kits... I'm certainly interested in some excuse to build one of these!

I'll play Of course, by the time this actually commits and floats to some probably distant start-date... I'll finally have the WWII Japanese kit I REALLY want to build... that Dragon K-Mi Type 2 w/ floats! That would, I think, be almost the Bomb on my tank shelf! And there are one, 2, or many FineMolds Japanese tanks and tankettes I'm thinking about, too...

Let's do this - Japanese Armor - all eras - both Made-in-Japan and seconded (such as those Pz 1A and ex-Russian T-26 captured from the Chinese and Crosley armored cars and ex-US Stuarts and etc., and of course the host of stuff handed off to the early post-war JSDF from the US, etc.). I'd definitely consider keeping this to Japanese armor and related and not mix in "all subjects" - but that's just my preferences speaking!
