Hi all
Just finished a Building from Miniart. It came as a ruined garage/factory Building, but I "un-ruined" it by fitting a roof and cutting off the ruined parts of the wall. I also put some glas in the window frames and added some wirerings and suchs.
But my biggest problem is, what do I do with it? I'd like to put in a diorama, but I just can't seem to get any really good ideas as for a story to tell. If any of you have a suggestion, please do tell, it might just b the spark which gets it going.
Jacob

I would say it would look great with some late war experimental Panzer in front and some GI“s checking it out ?

By the way - great looking build!

What?! ... No tank muzzle peering through a broken-down wall? Nice "un-ruining" work! The rent just went up in that neighborhood!

Great build and great work unruining it!

As for use:

Put DioParks Mercedes 200 in front of it with the driver and the garage owner talking. This type of garage can be found in germany well into the 1980s and with minor mods some are around the Ruhrgebiet even today. I'll see if I can take a few shots of one this week, depends on the workload.

One thing I could see is a scratch-built wet cobblestone street with rain puddles about. And how about a French resistance scene?

BTW: Pegasus Grey Bricks #5198 (small) are perfect for 1/35 scale cobblestones.

Cobblestones could be cork too!

Good ideas from the other gentlemen!! All of them worth a try!

If you allow me just one remark about the superb "un-ruined" building:

I would add a wash of dark oil colour over the brickwork (and wipe off most of it of course).

It would accentuate the intervals and give some areas a "less mint" appearance.

Just my 2c worth!

Cheers

Romain

Great job. I wish I could un-ruin some of the models I have butchered in the past.

Thank you all for the suggestions and ideas, they're all very helpful. I have a couple of ideas myself now, but I'm not quite sure which one of them it's going to be
1: Alied troops, maybe with a supporting vehicle, are covering th entrance, while some poor German is waving a White flag through the door.
or
2: A German pioneer Group have just arrived to carry out Hitlrs order of detroying all valuble industry before the advacing Alies, and the plant owner is desperatly trying to stop this.
But as we all now, a lot can happen between the first idea and the end result when Building dioramas

Maybe the owner could convince them to remove the most valuable machine tools and load them onto a truck...
