I just finished my first build to be painted. It is a basic Tamiya Sherman tank. I have not glued the hull together yet as I have seen some people prime turret and hull separate. Should I totally finish my gluing then prime? Also this will be the first paint job for me. Any primer tips? I do have access to an airbrush (Badger 150 I think). Any spray can recommendations?? Thanks, Scott

I leave mine separate but you could go either way.

I haven't tried too many paint brands but like to use Tamiya Acrylics, way easier to clean the airbrush afterwards

I paint the turret and hull separately as it is easier to work around the turret. Spray can primers I use are Krylon ultra flat camo colors. Usually the flat brown as it provides a nice base. Or the basic gray primer. It is fairly inexpensive and gives a nice coat. With the airbrush, I have used Vallejo primers, both the gray and the colored.
