Looks really good, thanks for the photos amoz02t! I can see traces of printing lines, can you tell us how the pieces look under a coat of primer? Are the printing lines pronounced?

What you call printing lines don't always show after painting, got M60 3D printed top loading air cleaners on my M60A2, you could see lines before painting but not afterwards.

Cheers,

Got one, was quite inexpensive too.

http://www.adlermodels.com/shop/step1.php?number=710

Christophe, where did You buy this engine and how much did You pay, if I may ask? The price on Adler's site says 0.00...

The Humvee engine would be great, if it is a whole engine block. Old (CMK and CAM Design) and Adler's ones are only partial.

I bought it from Sockelshop for 16 euros. Adler never had prices on their website, but you used to be able to contact them for prices and order direct (got a M60A2 conversion that way) unfortunately they don't seem to be in business anymore unless I'm mistaken?

Cheers,

Christophe

I have not had a chance to shoot a primer coat on these yet, but the "lines" or "steps" are very subtle. On similar parts in the past, I have used a coat of Future clear coat as it is self leveling. Usually that Future floor wax is enough for a smooth coat that would not show under paint or decal. I would not even suggest to wet sand these parts as they are too delicate in detail.

Yes, that's why I asked if the pieces have been primed.

These look very well done and it seems the times are coming which will establish 3D printing as the way to produce models, without the need for plastic or resin. We'll probably have 3D printers at home, some even with a resolution good enough to print the models themselves. Interesting times ahead...

Peter, that stuff looks amazing. Think I'll be ordering a set or 2 of the truck lights and boomerang in the near future for a what if build I have planned.

I was wondering though if in the future you plan to do any MRAP radios or satellite radio sets along with weapons?

amoz02t, thank you for the publication! The models on the photos looks very good:) I'm glad you like the result of 3D printing.
So, the first experience is positive, it is possible to continue:))
New models will be added in the near future.

Manxman, in the near future I will add the models for Humvee upgrading. The radio sets, I also collect information for it. Probably I can get help with the size of objects (radio sets), then I will do it. Weapons in different scales will soon.

Roger, I took in nearest plans the different products of Ibis Tek, also lights. Thank you for helping with photos!

I wanted to show how subtle the printing steps are, but my camera work is poor. This is what I could capture. On the grill part for only half of the grill top, I hand brushed one coat of Future. Let that dry overnight, then airbrushed half the top with enamel master model flat gull gray. The result is a very smooth finish with NO sanding. I was happy how this filled in the steps seen on the unpainted part of the grill.

Thanks again to Peter for putting in the effort to give us new modern options!

What you show looks quite promising. May be you should try the Alclad II primer. It fills little imperfections nicely.
To the author of the parts! Congratulations! Must buy for humvee fans!!!

amoz02t, I can build needed you block TOW ITAS fire control system box (FCS), but I need the basic dimensions and additional views. If somebody can help with it, I do it.

Peter- Please see here, In addition to SGTSAUER, Pete Becerra [ EPI ], 89BRAVO, and FRENCHY are some on this forum of the good references also. Hope they reply here as well? https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/229471#1932964

Hoping this will lead to a contact to provide more information to support a 3D model. I am seeking the early ITAS as seen in Mosul, Iraq July 22, 2003 (101st strike on Hussein's sons)

Thanks!

amoz02t, thank you for your detailed review of printed products! I think your advice on preparation of details will be very useful for modelers
I'll take to the study the information of block TOW ITAS fire control system box (FCS). Something I came across on various websites, I look, and if the information will be enough to take the model in plans.

Mario, you are right in your assumption about the times are coming which will establish 3D printing as the way to produce models, without the need for plastic or resin. Outlook for different objects by printing endless. In the future will be available the copies of workable weapons in 1/35 scale that will really shoot bullets in 1/35 scale

And the new set is available on Shapeways: 1/35 SPM-35-019 SAG II turret for SOF GMV
http://www.shapeways.com/product/H74T8P2NJ/35-spm019-sagii-turret-s1x35?li=shop-results&optionId=56821989
Please don't forget, at the first printing may occur canceling by Shapeways, I'll make corrections in the short term.

In a few days I'll add a shield for that turret.

Peter - I am most excited to read this! Please go carefully (as your previous work shows such wonderful care). It would mean a lot if the work in progress was also reviewed and commented on by those on this forum who have more knowledge than I for dimensions and features. Many thanks for your interest and work! I look forward to seeing your future efforts. Best regards- Stuart

The real dimensions of boomerang set in 1/35 scale is 2x1,7x1,6cm. This model was printed in option Frosted Extreme Detail, maximum quality. I recommend this option to print the weapons and other models with a high density of small parts. In sets with small volume, the price on the options of Frosted Ultra Detail and Frosted Extreme Detail may differ by 2-4 dollars. The price consists of the amount of consumable plastic and model space in the printer, my bonus is the same for both options. The option Frosted Extreme Detail takes the maximum effect. For large parts such as the turrets bumpers, ammoboxes enough options Frosted Ultra Detail.

Stuart, I will finish a few my in work models and will make box FCS. I think at the end of next week to do it.

The Boomerang III BBN Technologies gunfire anti sniper locator system ready for ordering on Shapeways:
http://www.shapeways.com/product/8ZWGNMSPP/1-35-spm-35-017-boomerang-iii-bbn?li=shop-results&optionId=56686639

Don't forget at the first printing it is possible cancellation by the Shapeways of the 3D printing of the order :
"Given the nature of 3D printing, every now and then we catch designs that are too fragile to create in certain materials. Though we do our best to identify these issues as early as possible, some are only found during the manufacturing process."
In that case they will sent me a notice and I troubleshoot it a period of 1-2 days. I try to give the most realistic models, but sometimes necessary to increase the thickness of some of the details, by the the process conditions. Not ruled out the a second case to cancel printing of the same model. This means that the thickness of the problematic details are still not enough. Such method helps me to identify the boundaries of technological capabilities of printers. But in any case, all the problems will be addressed in the short term. Thank you for the insight!:-H

Kubisz, orders are made and soon I hope to get feedback from modelers. I hope all good, but my opinion is that judgment of concerned person. Let's wait the impression to independent buyers, it's the most valuable. Then you can make a judgment about the technology and quality of product. I hope the current level of printing is developed enough for the construction of scale models. If not, I think it, and anyway its good attempt. If yes, so, then there will be many different new models

ORDERED! Yep, just ordered the M240l, and the scopes. Now, I just need a figure to go with those...

Or, I could convert one of my existing figures... nah, where's the fun in that!
