Here is my in progress photo. Base coat of paint is on.
There are numerous tie down pins that keep popping off.
the weathering should be fun.

I'll be building the Soviet Armoured Aerosan NKL-26 (#02321) in 1/35 scale. I built the RF-8/Gaz98 Aerosan (#02322) a few years ago as a captured vehicle in German service. I enjoyed that build and picked this kit up a while back. I'll probably buy the NKL-16 kit (#02337) later on and finish out the lineup.

Starter pictures. In some ways this is a lot simpler kit than the RF-8. The chassis interior is pretty basic. The skids seem to be a good deal more complicated than the RF-8 and it has a lot more PE.

The chassis is like a taco shell. Placing parts can be a pain. I good pair of tweezers will be a huge help. I assume control cables run along the floor but I don't have any interior references and you cannot see much of the interior so I probably won't worry about trying to add much.

Interior parts assembled. Dash & steering wheel, driver's seat, gunner's seat/step, and fuel tank.

Pre-ainted the interior khaki (per instructions). seat cushins black. Dash was painted white and I assume the instruments were black. Fuel tank and brackets were painted steel.

The rest of the interior bit added to the interior.

That's where I am now. To be honest, I'm not really liking this build but I'll finish it just to get it over with. I should have went with the Vodnik instead.

ok, well as some of you know through another campaign my airbrush died on me :-(

however i have managed to coax it back to life for the time being and have painted the BMP in it's base desert colour, sorry for the poor quality of the picture but you get the idea.

i ahve also run into an issue with the replacement track from fruil, apparently they don't drill the wholes into the track links to fit the wire in, you nave to do it with this set which i am greatly displeased about as this is going to take considerably longer to complete this kit.

Hi guys,

Here is a big update. I was waiting on information I ordered to move on with this project. It finally arrived and after checking the pictures, I needed to change my project. Instead of depicting a vehicle for the Cyprus mission, I'll model one of the UNPROFOR vehicles before the major upgrades that happened during the mission.

Here are a few pics of where it's at as of today:

Thanks for watching and your comments are most welcome!

Quoted Text

Primer on now to decide on a paint scheme

Overall dark yellow (possibly mottled) with heavy green and red-brown circle camo. Or, ambush scheme. Either would work well with this vehicle.

Ill be entering this campaign with the Trumpeter 1/350th scale HMS Belfast.

I did start the kit, all I did was put the hull together, and Im trying to sand down the putty im put on the bottom of the hull so it looks like a single piece hull.

Pics to follow.

Late start, but as I already finished the Artillery campaign with a Long Tom, I'd like to enlist my M198 kit that the postman has in the back of his truck today.
