Tiran 4-T54, Tiran 5-T55, Tiran 6-T62. Could be wrong but this is my understanding.

Just about finished the basic build. I added welds from filler and bolts to the side beams and to hold the stake sides to the body. I added some welded on strips to hold the cut down doors closed.

There are big gaps under the body, and a number of holes that need to be filled in, or covered, but nothing I haven't seen before. And the tires don't look right. I'm looking for replacements.

I'm still thinking about the cargo for the truck. Some kind of boxed produce. Any suggestions?

I was thinking more like the boxes seen here:

It is unlikely there would be a lot of beer available. Boxes of green beans would be more likely.

I don't think the poor T3 could handle a train load!

I did find this searching for food boxes on e-bay:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4738.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.TRS5&_nkw=DAN+models+35216+Packing+%28Cigarettes%2C+humanitarian+aid%2C+food%2C+a+box+of+bananas%29+&_sacat=0

A deeper search yielded more, priced at 3.99! Including another set with similar boxes that will work. Now I have a couple weeks to wait, snail mail from the Ukraine. That will give me time to figure out the best way to make green beans from stretched sprue. Lucky for me I have a lot of green plastic scrap!

A styrene tub filled with balls of tin toil and covered with plaster, sprayed with gloss primer,
and then getting the mud:

Couldn't sleep, so I got in 3 hours on the base this morning before work.

Yeah, the artillery rounds exploding around you will do that. Also, just when you think you can doze off, the Dawn Patrol comes buzzing past too

Looking excellent Christian. The weathering is fantastic.

Randall, to make green beans, use a bit of two part putty. Mix it up and then roll a small quantity into a thin sausage. Break that into smaller bits and roll that til the right size, making sure to roll the ends to a taper. Curve them a bit and let them harden.

You do similar for carrots but push a bit of stretched sprue in the top before they cure. Bundle them together gluing the sprue segments together to form a bunch. Then mix some PVA glue (white Glue) and water together to thin it a bit, soak the top of the carrot bunch in that and then dip in chopped up dried herbs (parsley is good). You may need to repeat the herbs. When dry paint them. It's easy and the colour gives a good contrast.

You can make tomatoes out of the putty too, again roll into a ball, push a bit of sprue (or a craft knife blade). in the top to form the valleys. If you shape the sprue you can press that into another tomato and that into another and have a series on the vine. Bits of paper can form the small leaves at the top of the tomato.

Same for apples but stick the sprue in and leave it. When dry add a bit of parsley or a piece of cut paper to the sprue of some to represent a leaf on the stem. It adds some character.

Cheers

I had not intended to start this kit until I finished some other GB's I'm in, but the wife was in a 'come sit with me' phase this week, so while she watched her TV shows I commenced the Gepard.

Some turret work (the gun pods are loose fitting for the pic)

The hull sections:

and the wheels and tracks. Guess which bag is the cleaned up up track segments and which isn't. At least there are not as many to do, even with the separate connectors and guide horns, as the Hobby Boss SdKfz 254.

So three times in not a charm then. I'll have to remember that if Ms no 2 goes sour on me...

I presume you have learned the wisdom of not going for a 4th.....

Hey everybody -

Nice builds coming along - Christian, that Mk. IV looks pretty wicked. I finished build my Gepard a couple of days ago (except for the tracks, I always finish them right before/while I'm starting to paint.) Sorry that the hue in these pictures is weird - I took them outside in the shade and increased the brightness so details were visible:

I actually wanted to prime/preshade/get the base coat on this cat this past weekend but I discovered the part in my airbrush in the back that clasps the needle (the chuck/collet?) was bent beyond recovery and now I'm waiting for the new part to come in the mail. More pics to follow.

DONE!
1/35 Takom Mk IV Hermaphrodite. British livery, somewhere in France in the mud. LOTS of products used to give this one an over-the-top, grittiness.
Based off of this photo:

And this is what I've got:

Outstanding Knuckles. Captures the grittiness of the WWI battlefield very nicely even without no mans land and the trenches.
