Couldn't sleep, so I got in 3 hours on the base this morning before work.
Yeah, the artillery rounds exploding around you will do that. Also, just when you think you can doze off, the Dawn Patrol comes buzzing past too
Looking excellent Christian. The weathering is fantastic.
Randall, to make green beans, use a bit of two part putty. Mix it up and then roll a small quantity into a thin sausage. Break that into smaller bits and roll that til the right size, making sure to roll the ends to a taper. Curve them a bit and let them harden.
You do similar for carrots but push a bit of stretched sprue in the top before they cure. Bundle them together gluing the sprue segments together to form a bunch. Then mix some PVA glue (white Glue) and water together to thin it a bit, soak the top of the carrot bunch in that and then dip in chopped up dried herbs (parsley is good). You may need to repeat the herbs. When dry paint them. It's easy and the colour gives a good contrast.
You can make tomatoes out of the putty too, again roll into a ball, push a bit of sprue (or a craft knife blade). in the top to form the valleys. If you shape the sprue you can press that into another tomato and that into another and have a series on the vine. Bits of paper can form the small leaves at the top of the tomato.
Same for apples but stick the sprue in and leave it. When dry add a bit of parsley or a piece of cut paper to the sprue of some to represent a leaf on the stem. It adds some character.
