The roofers did a lot more work the last two days but they work slowly.

Made the basic parts of the roof dormer out of plastic. I made some diamond pained windows this time though.

The dormer is almost done with paint so the roofers could get back to the donkey work.

After all the tiles are on,then some primer and the trim for the roof.
My years in Europe were well spent as I retained the look of these ancient houses in my brain pan fairly well. Probably through repetition in viewing them because they fascinated me so much.
Hope this civvie stuff isn't too boring,

Yes,I made my own out of plastic strip and then made the molds. All the commercial tiles I have seen are way too big and out of scale.

I'm so curious about where this great dio will lead to. Can't wait to see the final result. It's as exiting as having to wait twelve weeks for the plot of Homeland

Looking so so cool - know what you mean about some peace, not only the scene itself but I could imagine achieving a deep meditative state just doing those shingles!

I also began to use the balsa board for the first time. So far-meh. It is extremely soft and fragile and I am not impressed. I like my plain old cheap plaster of paris much better.

Jerry. I was planning on using Balsa-foam for a project. Sounds like you're not sold on it. From what I read there are three different densities of the material. Which did you use?

This sir, will be an amazing depiction of the figure. The roof and the house in general are coming together really well! I enjoyed reading through this blog. Keep it up, I can't wait to see more updates 😂

Ivan,Stef and Dave,

Thanks Gents for checking in and commenting. Ivan,I just realized I was using the softest type. So,no wonder ! I was,I am ,and I continue to be an idiot.

Here is the work from the bottom up and the top down.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it ! I still like the plaster better though.

Jerry, while a little self-deprecation is a virtue seemingly in short supply in today’s world, you sir cannot possibly be any kind of idjit if you can create stuff like this. If that was a cake I’d eat it all right now. Delicious.

Cheers, Tim

The cottage looks terrific, I particularly like the way you varied the color of the shingles, making a basically monotone roof more interesting. Looking at the building as it stands, I'm picturing a scene from "Young Frankenstein" with Gene Hackman opening the door to Peter Boyle's 'Monster'. Al

Hi Jerry - your building is looking really good! I know it's subtle, I really like the little change in elevation you're showing and the stepping stones - nice touch - looking forward to seeing more!

Cheers

Nice work, Jerry! The shingles look amazing.
