Yeah you're spot on with that review they're not great are they? Figures are not Trumpeter's strongpoint. My built set is somewhere in a box. I grafted new faces onto them from other figures but never finished them.
Either Masterbox or Miniart showed a set of Soviet tank riders in snow camo smocks at the Nuremburg show I think.

EDIT: I might be wrong about that because I can't find any trace of them now but there is a set of ICM Soviet tank riders be t not in camo smocks but padded jackets.
One could use the ICM Finnish troops but I think they are wearing Finnish Square towed boots.
