I assume Poland had the ZIS-131 trucks then. What color were they?

Yes, we had ZIL 131 in Polish army, they were standard painted on dark green. Examples below.

I hope I helped you.

Thanks! The Soviet green I assume? I know East German had lighter green vehicles so I wasn't sure.

I think that will be good choice because on the pictures colors of soviet and polish vehicles look similar. Maybe someone have a different opinion. I'm not expert on this part of military history but I remember both kind of militaries from childhod.

As I was in the military in 2001 I saw some ZIL with anti-aircraft missiles and a GRAD launcher. I do not know if they are still being used, they are probably in a mobilization reserve in the event of a war. Polish troops are constantly modernizing.

If there are any Russian trucks remaining, the Army dumps them whenever possible. These photos actually show ex-military trucks for sale, gathered on a storage yard of a private company. If you ever wanted to buy a Russian truck, Poland is the place to do it. These trucks have mileages of just a few thousand kilometers, most of them were garaged and well maintained and the price tag is often as low as 5k EUR.

Makes sense. I read the manufacturer went out of business in 2012, and why clutter yourself with prehistoric junk when there are so many better trucks out there nowadays?

During Warsaw Pact time shades of green of LWP tanks&vehicles were slighty different. Reason was very simple: service units were receiving yellow and black paints. And soldiers were mixing them on their own.
