Really digging # 71-72 as they are perfect for a diorama. Another interesting one would be #93 as it will make folks scratching their heads at a show.

You wouldn't happen to know the background history of #71-72 would you?

Obsolete tanks (mostly Shermans and T-34's) were placed along a few strategic locations on Israel's borders as fixed fortifications. No.72 was dropped right on the beach next to Rosh Ha'Nikra (on the Lebanon border), No.72 is near Moshav Yafit in the Jordan valley. 121-123 is in the Jordan Valley as well, I believe it's still visible.

Great effort, thanks so much.

I love multiple shots of the same vehicle from different angles, what a useful reference tool.

I almost think the IDF had a rule that no two soldiers in one unit were allowed to wear the same uniform, LOL, looks like they got their uniforms at a rummage sale.

The .50 cal on the M50 being mounted in different locations is something I hadn't noticed before. And it looks as if the crew member most likely to wear a steel helmet was the commander with the others wearing M38 tanker helmets, makes sense as the M38 offered no ballistic protection. I wonder when the last of the old Soviet tanker helmets was seen?

A lot of ideas for builds and dioramas there, good work.

Actually that's pretty much what happened...
Mind you, most soldiers you see on the pictures are reservists. In case of general mobilization, they get whatever is available.

Thanks for producing a new thread post on this subject.
I can still click on the PB img link on the other thread and view the album but then I have to fight through all the ads and the context is just missing.

Does anyone know what is that antenna array attached to the front of the hull in picture #153? Could it be used to trigger premature explosionation of magnetic AT mines?

Propably it is the tank that was captured in 1982 during the First Lebanon War by the Syrian Army and until recently was a Kubinka tank museum exhibit.

The vehicle was returned to Israel in May 2016.

The vehicle was returned to Israel in May 2016.

...and Israel sent back an identical Magach 3 to the Kubinka Museum.
