I'm planning ahead for a base for my 1:35 scale Tunguska 2S6M. I'm thinking about building a revetment with the walls made out of stacked timbers. If that wasn't do-able then out of boards; but I'm not sure what size of dowels or balsa wood strips to use.

Has anyone done something like this and can drop some knowledge on me? Maybe some pictures?

I used 1/8" dowel for the revetments of my Stalin Line pillbox.



Scaled up, that works out to 4.4 inches in diameter, a little bit under the recommended 15-17cm as taken from Osprey's Soviet Field Fortifications, 1941-45, but I think it looks OK. Sorry it's all WWII data, but I doubt it's changed much since then.

Hi considering you're doing a modern subject, revetment would come in the form of a "Hesco Bastion" type product or simple corrugated tin sheets with 6 foot angle iron pickets to hold it up.
