Welcome to the campaign, guys. Only a month (minus 5 days) to go! Jose, it looks like you're almost there but for the road wheels. Eman, an interesting kit. Unfortunately, I don't see many Fujimi kits in the hobby stores anymore.

Howdy Y'all
The clock is ticking down...
I'm putting a filter on the KV-II. I use an "Olive" oil paint I bought at Hobby Lobby, the cardboard takes some of the oil from the paint:
I use "dirty" thinner and an old brush. The back part of the turrent has the filter applied.
The trick is to control the application, small areas at a time, not a big "wash". I wick any excess off the model with a paper napkin or a paper towel.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Howdy Y'all
I finished the "Olive Green" filter over the BO4 paint.
I think the filter takes some of the "Kermit" out of the green. The second and fifth road wheel (counting wheels from the front of the tank) did not get a wash. I wanted to see how much of difference the wash makes.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

I'm late to the party getting my entry posted. I forgot I had this old Dragon orange box Stug III sitting 95% complete. This is more or less a weathering test bed for me and I decided I would go ahead and finish her up.

Meng ZPU-1 all but done.
Damn, this little bit of a kit fought me tooth and nail. As nice as their other kits can be, this little one is a real bear. Tiny attachments between parts, large sprue attachment points and fiddly assembly at every turn.
Yeah, I still have to paint that one footrest.
But it’s beer-thirty at this point.
Where is was
and where it stands now.

Almost ready to push this over the line! Just wipers & mirrors to attach. It's meant to be an Iwo Jima vehicle, but I may have "over dusted" a wee bit, although perhaps we've become so used to models that really "pop". Any suggestions as to how I can improve it at this late stage would be really appreciated.

It's not bland, it's understated - which is a good look imho

Pete,
I'm trying to remember if the sand at Iwo Jima was red or tan. Nice DUKW anyways!
Mike,
Nice finish of the ZPU-1. I have Meng's Russian Light AA Set here, so someday I will go through what you did times 4!
Congratulations on finishing (or in Mike's case, yet another finish). (Save some for next year!)

Wasn't the Iwo sand black from the volcano?
The two-barrel Zu-23-2 is a pretty nice little kit and builds up easier than the Trumpeter or (shudder) EE/Skif versions. That said, I have heard NOTHING good about the 2 or 4 barreled build ups for the other guns in the kit.
Save some for next year? bwahahahah...at this rate I am good for UB 247...

Nice one Mike
Thanks. It's a tough little build.
Gives me new respect for all those pickups with the gun built up in the back.
I have built them and the pickup kits are VERY nice, but the instructions have you build the gun after, so..
Quite a kick in the shorts I imagine, get that far and run into this..

Almost there, but still so much to do…
Here is where I’m at with the Tamiya panzer iv D. I am waiting for some dry transfer decals to arrive in the post from the US. I still need to add the tow hawser, and rear mud guards, then there is the weathering… Oh, and the crew….
I plan on finishing this in UFB 2019.
Cheers
Matthew
