This tracked crane was used at the GIAT Industries (now Nexter) facilities in Satory near Paris. It's based on a AMX-30R Roland SAM launcher chassis :

Even if no model I build will ever be worthy of this forum, it's still worth coming here to see Frenchy's pictures (and Israel's too!). Thanks, Henri-Pierre, you are a trove of wonder.

Hi Lee,
Maybe you should try it? The worst that can happen is that you get some encouragement and constructive comments to help you improve
There are many easy things to improve in order to make the transition from "below average" up to "competent". Getting to the level of some of the painting experts takes time, effort and practice but a lot of us are not at that level

Looking at 1291-1293, it seems that we're hunting on the same grounds once again Israel

Here's another converted SU-76M (I guess "M" is for "Milk"...)

It's just that I like to think of myself as knowledgable in terms of German army armored vehicles, so I was confused and had to look it up

Ex-German Army TM-170 APC converted into a Rescue vehicle in Iceland :

1251

H.P.

Nice find, but not former German army. The Bundesgrenzschutz (Federal Border Protection) was a police unit attached to the Ministry of the Interior, though they did have some military equipment, even camouflage schemes (the venerable Splittertarn and Sumpftarn) and partially compbattant status. The notorious anti-terror unit GSG-9 is an offspring of the Bundesgrenzschutz.

As the border protection has lost its relevance in the Schengen context, the unit was renamed "Bundespolizei" (Federal Police).
