Thanks Vicious. Those do look like excellent books for references.

A picture tells a thousand words, which is why Italian pictures come with hands to emphasise. (An old joke from an old italian friend whom we called windy.... when he talked his arms went everywhere just like a windmill..)

hahahahaha ... my wife says that to keep me quiet it's easy, just tie my hands behind my back and I can not talk anymore ...

give a look on the italian forum link, you have 24 pages of very nice picture in Sicily some from multiple direction

Yes, but I could only get 12 pages. The Grant Scorpion has me thinking... as has the Saharina, I did not know they were there.

Love the DUKW pics. Photoshpped to change the crew head from caps to helmets and take one out, and Volia - one landing in Sicily and another in New Guinea and/or the Philipines

Seems the Brits in this Sherman had some interesting camoflage ideas:

I've always been a big fan of SP artillery. Here is a Priest:

Here is the Fire Devil:

Here is another view:

A brummbar at speed!

A Dug in M10:

South African Sherman:

Chaffee!

Crocodile:

Anther heavily adorned Sherman:

StuG in Italy:

Seems the Italian campaign hosted the most colorful Shermans:

I purchased Tamiya's Archer on the weekend for the campaign.

The 7th Anti-Tank Regiment of the Polish II Corp used them in Italy in 1945.

I am planning on making a Pz. IV from Tamiya. However, I am also considering a Jagdpanther, but not sure if jagdpanthers served in Italy. Anybody has any insights?

Some more inspiration:
A British Sherman tank advancing through Imprunetta, Italy, 3 August 1944.

German prisoners and a knocked-out PzKpfw IV tank in the village of San Savino, 19 September 1944.

If you haven't already visited, see the IWM website for some fantastic pics of DUKW's, Jeeps, Shermans, Panzers, SPA's, aircraft, Flak, etc. You can spend hours there...:

Apparently the Brazilians used them in Italy, too:
