That figures. Just finished putting paint on my Hobby Boss kit. But nice to see Tamiya back in the new tool business.

Same here! Saw this post the day after I watched Chieftain’s Scout Car episode. Great stuff, plenty of possible finishing options!

Here we go. I bought the Peerlas Max-Italeri-Zvezda kit back when and started to work on it. It was bad so I bought PE to make it better. Then half way through the grind HB released their kit. So the old one went to trash and I bought the HB, which is still sitting in the stash. Good thing I didnt stock up on the Academy M3 Stuarts back when they were first released...

A Tamiya retooled scout car could be interresting to do a french one in Indochina.
But the news about a new Sheridan is a more interresting news for me. Thanks for the information.
My two old Tamiya Sheridan that i wanted to kitbash with the academy kit+ Eduard PE will be as been!
I hopes that Tamiya will include parts for Vietnam and ODS erea.

Any idea if the M3A1 Scout will be an earlier or later version?

An all new M3A1 scout car and a Sheridan. When I first read M3A1 scout car I thought it was the turret less Stuart used as a command and recce vehicle.

Now the Sheridan; they're going to surprise us all and do a 1980s Panama vehicle to go with the M561 gamma goat kit.

There's probably nothing to link since it's not officially released yet. Vodnik probably knows since he sometimes collaborates with manufacturers for measurements and the like (not to answer for you Vodnik, or give a false representation of what you do!)

Read the review on the Hobby Boss M3-A1 Scout Car. Now what are some of the improvement's over the Hobby Boss kit that every one is hoping Tamiya will do with their release.

I'm hoping this is the beginning of some new tooling on a couple of their older kit's like their Deuce and 1/2 and Jeep.

Dave.
