Ya but.... here's an announcement over on The Modeling News. It shows the crane in use ...but... it states the crane will come with fixtures for lifting Panther and Tiger turrets. Ok if you are into German armor, of which I'm not. However, I am into the V2 stuff-- one can only hope Takom will also produce one with a lifting rig for the V2. I just hope they will offer this kit separately without having to buy a V2, Viadalwagen or Miellwerwagen, which would drive up the price. A combo kit would be huge and pricey-- but neat all the same.

Seems to me it might easier for an enterprising person to make just those parts needed for a V-2 harness rather than depend on Takom, who very likely might bundle it with another rocket.

I hear you Shell-- I scratch build all the time(see my scratch built Vidalwagen below--finished this two years before the Takom Vidalwagen came out-- honoring the time honored modeling maxim--"if you scratch build it, they'll release a kit"!). But I'd just like to see it come with all the "lifting" possibilities in the box too. No doubt some enterprising after market company will also fall in line.

Just what I was thinking: not to mention the wealth of Tigers, etc that we've all accumulated.

Wow, smart answer. I guess we all know what he might have meant.

Anyway, figures of mechanics are out there, we probably just have to modify them a bit. Always depends on the scene you want to depict, of course...

This is really exciting news. I wonder if it will include the generaters to power the crane? If not I think Plus models make one.

Well there's good news and there's bad news . The good news is this subject has finally come out in plastic , the bad news is I'll have to get two of them , one servicing a tank , the other for a transport build .

Now for the million dollar question [ no pun intended ] , any ideas on the suggested manufactures price ?

Agh! More expense! I'm going to have to get at least one of these. The ideal way to display a Panther or Tiger with interior!

Great news! Now I can "86" my plans to get the resin DESkit. Volker Ruff's outstanding book will come in handy in detailing this baby.

Hmm...I don't have a Ferdinand. Guess we'll need to see some reviews on which crane is better.

The lifting fixture for the V2 does not look to be very difficult to scratch build. However it does look like it might be wiser to build it in metal rather than plastic.

Then too, I am sure some of the designers that work through Shapeways would be happy to help us out on this.

Yesterday Takom announces the Fries Crane. Amusing Hobby replies with Fries Crane plus new full-interior Ferdinand with clear roof. Today, Takom announces limited-run Fries Crane with a surprise one-of-five Panther kits with full interiors, to be released.
