Hi! Do you know if anyone makes the horse-drawn Limbers for the DRAGON sIG.33 and the AFV CLUB leFH 18 kits?

Just came across this cast metal one from Hinchliffe. I don't know what gun it's designed for... It's OOP though :

H.P.

I think it was meant for the wooden-wheeled s.IG33..?

It sure is a lot of work tackling the detailing on a horse drawn wagon ...

The extra work is the pleasure in executing it for some of us...

DES Kit has released a 6-horse set :

deskit.online.fr/02_pages/04_materiels_35/materiels_francais_35/35071/35071.htm

to be used with this limber :

deskit.online.fr/02_pages/04_materiels_35/materiels_francais_35/35070/35070.htm

and the famous French Modèle 1897 75mm gun :

deskit.online.fr/02_pages/04_materiels_35/materiels_francais_35/35042/35042.htm

There's also a 75mm ammunition caisson available :

Wow, thanks, mon ami. That's a lovely horse set. WW1 or WW2? The French 75 was used in both conflicts, and the rubber wheels confused me.

I guess it's OK for WW2. The pictured "75" is fitted with a "train rouleur" which enabled towing by a truck or an artillery tractor without removing the WW1-vintage wooden wheels, like in this period picture :

The "train rouleur" :

Of course, horses were still used in 1940 as well with the "canon de 75"... :

Merci milles fois.

I love the set but it would be about 150 Euros with both caissons and the gun.

I guess you could save a few bucks using (and detailing...) the old RPM 75mm Modèle 1897 gun kit

There's another one released by TOM Modellbau. Both will require some TLC....

What about a soviet "Tachanka" ? Maybe there was still a few around in 1941

From Modelstroy (the machine-gun is not included though...) :

Thanks for this nice picture.
But.....
Where to buy it if you can‘t speak or read Russian language?
Seems to be just fun to build this small piece.

I think most armies except US and british were mostly horse-drawn. Even russians had horse-drawn wagons still in use in Berlin 1945. And germans were allways lacking oil, so horse-drawn was the only alternative.

That has straight away become my favourite kit box top art ever. At least he looks like he made some good friends before he goes off to his - er - uncertain future on that perfect summer day. The pity of it...

However, seeing the size of the roosters in his village I would prefer to leave as well!

Here's another variant of the Tachanka (1935). I guess it's a 1:1 replica of the military factory-built one :

Some scale drawings are available online if you want to scratchbuild one...

"According to the British standard, fully grown Leghorn cocks weigh 3.4 kg (7.5 lb)"
Quote from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leghorn_chicken
Compare with feral cats (not the overfed house cats but cats who have to find their own food)
"The Boston Cat Hospital weighed trapped feral cats, and found the average feral adult male to weigh 4 kg (9 lb), and average adult female 3 kg (7 lb)."
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat

0.6 kg difference and the rooster has them evil looking spurs, flapping wings and a [auto-censored]load of attitude ...

The rooster pictured in the box art appears to be perched on the fence in the background. If so, it's much bigger than a cat, whatever the cat

The Hinchcliff peice here is for the 105mm howitzer and the SiG 33. Of all the kits listed in the posts above the best ones are the Riich ones,IMHO,
Thanks Henri, for including my humble effort here. I haven't seen that in a while!
I actually have the master patterns available here for a manufacturer to put into production but there has been no interest in it. Sorry. I myself, will not deal with pouring resin any more.

Weight doesn't say everything about fluffy objects like birds The feathers add a lot of volume and the skeleton bones of birds are less solid than for land animals.
A leghorn rooster standing upright reaches close to 60 cm.
Here is a video of a large Brahma rooster who reaches 85 cm ...

A Polish version of the Tachanka (Taczanka wz.36) was in use in 1939 :

https://forum.dobroni.pl/f/taczanka-wz-36/25758

Talking about WW2 Polish horse-drawn weapons, here are two 1/35 scale sets released by S-Model :

Bofors wz.36 37mm anti-tank gun (for about $22.00...)

Ckm wz.30 machine-gun
