Hello everyone.
In my search for something to hang behind my German trucks some two weeks ago I stumbled in this one. it is a resin kit from BOLDDIVISION, Leipzig Germany. The kit has 44 different part with a total count of 140 and it gives the builder 2 options to build. First one is of course a normal and solid 5 tons Anhänger. Second options is to build a wrecked piece, additional rims are included to represent tires off.
What is really eye catching are the wooden strips to make the wooden parts of the Anhänger. I like that very much. There is no PE included. Will see if I miss that during the build. Already made a start, which means release the parts from their blocks and cleaning.
To get an impression the pictures show some of the contents.

Opening the box.

Resin and wood.

Resin

Some reference! Nice, nice.

More to follow soon, gone get me some drinks and food on Sunday evening market.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

Already see a challenge in adding detail. This site has it all, despite of missing more.... Almost everyday visit to this treasure of history.

Hi everyone. After some cleaning and test fitting of the parts I made a start with the construction. Most is still test fitted. To give an idea on how the parts look, some pictures:

Quality of the resin is good, no air bubbles and/or intensive scraping and cutting, all went very smooth. Will need filler to close minor gaps, but that is a common issue with styrene as well as with resin kits.
Putting all parts together it already looks like this. Again only test fitted.

Very pleased with this kit and the progress so far.
Thanks for watching.

Very cool, thanks for blogging this!
The parts do look nice and problem free. Was there any warping of the frame for the bed of the trailer?
I'm interested in getting one of these as well, but the places I've looked all say sold out.

Hi. Just some minor warping in my second kit, this one has not, just a tiny damage on the front of the metal frame work approx. a 1 mm cut/dent. Rest is spotless so far. I send Sebastian the links for this review. He should be alarmed now for more production.
Thanks for watching.

A little bit of work done over the weekend. It's a boiling environment of 42 degrees celsius, but this came out of my hands today.

All went pretty ok, but the kit has a minor that the bed is too big, side planking's don't fit in length and width, building it out of the box. Some pieces of styrene added and it looks much better.
I removed the backplate and reshaped that to get the correct length . Only some filler needed and it's ok. Wheels and hubs are ok, nice fit. Suspension looks a little crude, but will fix that.
Bed is now finished and dry fitted to the rest. Pleased with the results so far.
Now detailing can begin.

Have a nice evening, I'm going to get me some nice Thai food and ICE COLD BEERS.

Looks good Robert.
I'm confused as to what the minor problem was. Did you have to lengthen and widen the bed frame?
And could you post a picture of the other side of the trailer, please?
It looks really good overall. The wheels look like they have good detail.
42 Celsius !!! wow! It's 40 Fahrenheit here today ... I think I'll take that over you're 42 C.

No the side boards are to short, as the front and back. To sort that out, I cut off the backplate, which is less than one millimeter and placed shims to the sides to fit so it would form a nice square of wood plankings.

Angel I'm really looking forward to you manual you expect to receive about the Pioneers trailers. I need some measurements.

Thanks for the replies, it ain't over yet. All is just setting to get some more detail and improvement where applicable.

Kind regards,

Robert Jan

All that could tow a weight, comparing to engine power I guess.

might be a 5 tons and 8 tons together

Some pictures.
Details so far of the underside construction of the Anhänger and a load from Value Gear added.

I could use some information about the hand break for this trailer. Pointed with number 9 "Standbremse ". Anyone has a better drawing, pictures of this?

Hope you all enjoy the build so far.
To be continued, for sure.

Robert,

I am enjoying it 100%!

I don't have any info on the hand/parking brake(Standbremse), but googled the German word and the images, that showed up, are quite similar to what is seen on Bild.6
https://www.humer.com/de/shop/ersatzteile/tieflader-ersatzteile/120185100-standbremse-mklappbagriff-oseilrolle

My guess is there is a steel rope(10), that runs from the shackle on the back side of the hand brake, around the pulley(3) and then to the rear brake lever/s.

When you crank the brake, its rear part retracts and pulls the rope, that pulls the brake lever/s, which deploy rear axle wheels brakes.

Just a little bit of progress. Try to get the hand brake right. Scratch build with sprue, brass and a bit of wire.

Hope you enjoy.
Even with a full Airco blowing it was a sweaty day to get this fixed.

Thanks Angel.
I'm considering how to attach the spare rim. Not very clear from the pictures I've seen so far.

Robert that is by far the the best and most highly detailed trailer on the market and your excellent build and your additional details make this one a real shinning award winner!

Kudos and Applause!

Thanks Michael. It's a slow process with my buildings, there is simply a lot going on that needs my attention. We started a new company and that's a lot of work, physical and mentally exhausting. So minor bench time a the moment.

Got a spectator on my desk.
It's Alois, watching progress on the Anhänger

I've ordered some copper strip for detailing the side boards and make them more sturdy / straight. They look sloppy.

So for now, until next time.
(Alois will also get some more detail)

Just got two of these bad boys in the mail yesterday (25 Mar)...and all I can say is that these kits are loaded with details. Once I get around to building these cuties, I plan on a dual trailer tow job being tugged around by a yet to be determined vehicle.

Question for possibilities: any photos exist of these jewels in somewhat Opel Blitz wheels/tires being employed?? The kit uses what seems to be almost Russian style wheels...just wondering!
