For those who might be sitting on the fence for this one

Used the TMD T23 turret and a set of MasterClub tracks. Obviously still needs painting, tow cable and the like.

That’s the plan. Just need to make sure I don’t screw up the black and OD paint job..........

Looks Great Chris! I just ordered a few from Spruebrothers. Looking forward to doing a Cobra version myself. I have a few TMD turrets in the stash just for a project like this. Are the masterclub tracks worth the price?

For a 100% accurate Cobra vehicle you would also need to add the "cross pin" loaders hatch, which were present k. The T23 turrets. TMD also makes one and is a drop-in replacment. However, the difference is pretty minor and probably didn't even know the cross-pin hatch was a thing. Changing it is up to you

I have my kit built up already. I still need to add some weld beads.

Did your T23 turret include the brackets for the .50 stowage rack? I can't remember if mine did or if I lost them. Either way, I carved off the ones from the kit turret.

Are you referring to the red circled area in the pic? I know about the cross pin hatch but decided I can live with that minor 'error'. My turret came with the left and right brackets. The rest I had to source elsewhere.

Those MasterClub tracks look very good, and the tank looks very nice. Asuka hulls and turrets are well done. I see you used the flat return roller supports. How are the swept up parts?

What's with the visible "step" in the gun barrel where it enters the mantlet? I was led to believe there should be no step here, but that the area in question was gunmetal because any paint wore off in the slide during recoil.

Both type of return roller supports are included. I think the upswept ones look great and added them to the ever growing Sherman spares box. I’ve got the Rye Fields kit and it’s awesome but still a huge Asuka fan. If you haven’t tried MasterClub Sherman tracks, give a set a try.

Don't forget to add the headlight socket cap tube, on the brush guards.

Chris: Did you damage the bow MG dust cover attachment flange? Or is it supposed to be like that? I've never seen one with a tip at the top

I damaged it. May be able to fix it and get it round again or find another one and replace it.

Thanks for the offer but I think I fixed it. Tamiya Extra Thin and some gentle prodding got a more rounded shape. The part was very brittle and I managed to snap it into three pieces.......

Blocking in my based colors and then spray the patterns with a variety of shades to break it up a bit. OD and black can be a bit boring.

Well I decided to scrape together enough pennies to order a kit. So you got one person to step off the fence.

Is the barrel slide molded? I just ordered the kit and was curious.

No, it has the same 2 piece barrel from the 'A3 kit.

Hi, I was wondering if you posted the finished pictures on a different thread?
