Hi all,
I have started to form the ground on the 'outside' of the wall (see images below). Once the white glue has set I'll cover it with a mix of plaster and sand.
I've also been trying to work on the wall colour (see image below) but, to be honest, I'm struggling,
. Is anyone aware of any good 'wall' painting threads that I can tap in to?

As to B-word, don't get me started,
, and don't mention Brexit, I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it all right...done in my best Basil Fawlty voice.
Maybe not buying something with Eurotool on it was a subconscious act...whenever I see the word 'Eurotool' I immediately get an image of Barnier and Juncker in my head...not a nice thing to have happen,

Yes, I struggled with painting the 'cobbles', it took me several attempts, and I'm still not really happy with my results. I'll be keen to see how you approach painting yours.
On the brightside, just be glad you haven't got the amount of tiles to paint that Tim has on his Operation Anthropoid project,
. Though I would suggest you check out his latest posts, using pastels might work for painting your 'cobbles'.

Holy masonry, with those latest photos that wall’s getting ever closer to being mistaken for the real thing – maybe a few subtle bits of moss or weeds and then why bother with the tank? - it’ll hide too much of the wall! Fantastic! (As for t’other thing I actually do have some shreds of skin in the game, I left Blighty in ’87 but have kept dual nationality….um mainly to move freely around Europe…er…oh sh..

True but Tim is crazy. The chalk idea turned out well. Not sure I have that level of talent to pull off. My messes never look that good. We will see.

Everything is coming along nicely I see. The wall came out great. As far as colors go ? Who can say ? I have struggled with the colors on Norman stonework for years now. I have found the issue comes down to specific localities because they all use stone quarries that have different colors,sometimes in the same wall !
The one I am working on now has a very pale limestone,but I have seen yellow as well and also more brown tones. It's up to you in the end as there is no "right color"

Thanks for your positive feedback, and for the advice regarding wall colour(s). I've googled a few images, and yes, the colour variation does seem quite varied.
However, the one thing I have noticed is that the mortar is more pronounced than it appears on my attempt, so will have to do something about that.

A tad more progress on the base, the groundwork outside the wall has now been plastered and some debris has been added.
I have also 'rough' coloured both sides of the rest of the wall (see images below).

Thanks... I was rather pished off when that happened, but managed to do some work anyway... I am currently nearly out of options before I NEED to add the damaged parts. According to Zoukei-Mura eta will be in 1 week, so I hope I can go further by then...
As for your walls, since walls made out of natural stone all differ in one kind or another, use photo's as inspiration rather than as a manual... If you think it looks ok, it is ok...

Yes,I agree fully about the mortar thing. When viewed from over a certain distance most of the overall color you see is from the mortar. But even then,it depends on th age of the structure. A very old one,in disrepair,will have a lot,if not all,of the mortar worn away. This will look more like "dry stacked" walls. Your walls could fit in that category easily I think?
In the end,it all comes down to whatever makes you happy.

Yes, I was very surprised when I started looking at images as to how much the mortar influenced the overall colour and general appearance,
. For some reason, in my mind's eye, I imagined the space between masonry, be it stone or brick, to be much darker...a sort of shadow line...again I'm proven wrong,
.
I had always intended that the wall would have that rundown sort of appearance...honest,
...so I will emphasise some of the mortar, but also leave some of it in need of a little TLC.

I have also added the first layer of grass, though I still have to paint the masonry debris (see images below).
