Did the hydraulic cylinder mounted on the right side of the turret (used for erecting the boom) have a cover for the exposed portion of the arm?

Like the M107 175mm gun, the recuperator cylinders were both exposed shiny metal, and also displayed covers over the same cylinder rods.

Yeah, I looked at PP also, but they are just two vehicles, with the boom stowed. The cylinder is extended only when the boom is lifted, and all of the museum pieces appear to be stowed, with the cylinder retracted.

I think I read your post wrong, get what you’re saying now, the actual cylinder itself. Now that I think about it, not so sure now myself.

Hi!
The cylinder has a cover and you can see it on the vehicle whose pictures are linked before, second row, first picture. There, a cover is pressed together in folds.
