Hi guys,

From here in Nor Cal, we’ve been on quarantine just over a week. I’m already sick of eating TP for every meal. No clue why everyone is doing so?...haha - I read that somewhere, wish I thought of it. Our markets were pretty packed with intense shoppers last weekend. Now, the situation seems to have stabilized, with my market generally restocked and much less frenzied - so far I’ve had little trouble buying regular amounts of regular day to day supplies.

An interesting part of (so many of us) staying at home each day (rather than going to work) is to see so many folks out for an evening walk, dog walk, kid walk, bike ride etc. There’s a wide path/trail that runs through my nhood and it’s been really busy, which has been nice as I’ve seen many friends while out for my get-out-of-the-house walk! While only a week, it’s been great to get some air, exercise and social interaction - at the appropriate/required social spacing!

Also been fun doing some model building during daylight hours!

Stay well gents -

Nick

Suddenly, a lot of people has become sportsmen.

In France, we have to complete a certificate for each outing with only a few valid reasons
Without it or if the reason is not valid and in the case of a police check, we have to pay a fine.

And you ?

The main purpose of the quarantine is to keep people away from each other and help contain the virus. On monday, I noticed a lot of young people massing in a McDonalds restaurant. I think the young ones think they are kind of immune, because COVID 19 "hits only old and sick people". Bavarian government announced high fines for violation but `til now, we all behave like good citizens. I have ordered stuff from Blast Models and Gilles told me that there may be a delay in delivery.

No stink'in (pun intended) TP needed here? I use crumpled up pages out of model airplane rags!

John, pretty hardcore, that glossy, enamel paper ???
I prefer using the Yellow Pages. You know, "let your fingers do the walking" motto. And the local paper news content has become, "good for sh**"

Keep building guys !

About 4 years ago we bought bolt on bidets for both of our toilets. Since then we only use TP in small amounts to basically "dry off". Nice and squeaky clean. I highly recommend it.
Troubling to me though how this episode has shown how little it takes to strip the thin veneer of civilization away from most folks.
Getting through this like we did in the Infantry. Embrace the suck and deal with it with humor.

On a related note, it was just announced that all non-essential businesses in our province are to be closed from midnight tonight, until who knows?? I hope the gov't considers the few hobby stores we have as "essential"!

John, although the local Yellow Pages over the years has shrunk from really thick to a slim, trim 230pages/115 sheets they still exist, at least in Milwaukee.
With all the paper mills we have in Wisconsin we should be the OPEC of TP!
