What is the new DML kit that I can use for a interior like the M1A1HC in the features Olivier Carneau " BISON126" used. I tried to find it but it's not working

I would be greatful if I could find out who kmows what newer kit that he is talking about used in OIF from DML. I was going to do a dio after I finish my German M88 Flak.

Happy Modeling

Tom,
The new Dragon M1A1 HA, USMC, Baghdad 2003 kit is the newest one. It includes the US Army style extended turret busttle rack, mislabeled as a USMC rack, (correct USMC rack is in the new Academy M1A1OIF kit) and includes nice PE mesh for the rack . The DML kit also has a full load of MOLLE Gear, duffel bags and other gear. It also includes all needed CIPs and a printed paper card with MRE boxes on it. It still comes with the partial interior in all DML M1 kits which includes a complete driver's area and a pretty complete upper turret, no lower turret basket and details though. All the parts for an Army M1A1 are in the kit too. Decals are all wrong though. For good USMC or US Army OIF decals, try the Echelon OIF sets.

Here is a review: M1A1 USMC, Baghdad, 2003

It is a great kit and the best value for the money. I highly recommend it.

Hey Tom,

All older and newer releases of the M1s from various manufactures have have their pros and cons..

I'll go with the Dragon's new OIF release cause its well priced, there's a basic interior, non-slip surface texturing, additional rack and new MOLLE gear.

If you're not interested in the MOLLE gear and non-slip, then spend more get Tamiya's OIF kit..theif fit is definately better.. and more choices for markings, etc but no non-slip there,etc..

I've both new kits as well as older tamiya and dragon M1s.. All of which I'm updating to OIF.

All depends what you want to do with your kits..

Hello Tom,
I PM'ed you the ref number. For all others interested in this kit it's #3533. This is the one Gino mentioned and gave a link to the review.

The decal tactical/serial markings in Dragon kit #3533 are correct. The name on the bore evacuator is bogus. And those are "Seabags" in the bustle rack when they are on a US Marine vehicle. Out here.

Huh? I don't get it, Mike. So the rack is not the marine kind but decals and all the accessories like the "seabags" are correct for USMC Abrams?

Howdy P2G. As Gino said, the Bustle Rack Extension that Dragon put in kit #3533 is patterned after one that was used by some US Army tanks in the 3rd ID. It is nice but incorrect for USMC use. Eduard makes a good PE replica of the one in use by the US Marines. Academy also has a plastic one in their latest version of the M1A1 kit "Baghdad 2003". It is nothing that cannot be fixed. Bison scratch built an incredible looking one for his USMC M1A1 "Sinister Minister". Check it out. Go to the links on Angry Dogs post. The name on the decal that goes on the Bore Evacuator in kit #3533 is also spelled wrong. I know they did not do it on purpose. The manufacturer just made a mistake. Sometimes stuff falls through the cracks.
The bags, packs and sleeping mats are correct for USMC use in OIF 1 or 2. Out here.
