Built by Fincantieri (Italcantieri) at the Monfalcone shipyards in the Gulf of Trieste, she was laid down in March 1981, launched in 1983 and commissioned on 30 September 1985. Garibaldi is classed as a CVSASW or Anti-Submarine Warfare Aircraft Carrier and is based in Taranto.

The Kit:
Delphis Models Italian Carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi (551)
Scale: 1/700
Medium: Resin/PE

The kit itself is one of the better from Delphis, and is cleanly molded and basically comes in three big pieces, the hull in two parts and the superstructure. As usual with most resin kits, virtually all the delicate parts like gun barrels and radar antennae were smashed upon receiving the kit!

Hi David Thank you for sharing your experience with this kit! It turned out very good and it is really a shame that the model doesn't include a dedicated PE set. You managed to make a very interesting finished product Congratulations Cheers Rui
