Soviet T-26 mod 1931

  • move
Paul Hargett shares with us some images of his Soviet T-26 mod 1931 by Hobby Boss in 1/35th scale. Kit improvements include scratch built side skirts, adding white metal tracks and improving the kit's exhaust. Both the muffler and the side skirts were rebuilt for scale thickness and to make battle damage easier to apply. The white metal tracks are from Fruil model. Thinned Vallejo Model Color acrylics were used to airbrush the color modulation finish. Work-in-progress on this kit can be found here:

Thank a lot guys. I tried a few different techniques on this one. This was my first color modulation and the first time I tried thicker mud. Color modulation is relatively easy but it dose take some time! @JPTRR, I recommend this model. Its molded quite well. The kit's side skirts are ok, a good looking model can easily be had without scratch building these. But I do think some aftermarket tracks are required because the tracks in the kit are over-engineered (meaning many small bits make up a short length of track).
