Monte Cassino

Stephen started this diorama with the selection of the building, this was from Verlinden and of the plaster type, the doors etc. were resin and all went together easy enough. Once built it was painted and weathered in the usual way and set to the side. Next the base and once again Stephen used an old picture frame from a second hand shop, once the base was shaped how he wanted it he set the building on it to get an idea of how the lay out would work , then he moved on to the vehicle. This was again from Tamiya, and still a nice kit for its age the only addition were the grills for the rear, Stephen always tries to keep costs to a minimum and as this was also the type of Stug used at the time, and so it suited. It was finished off and next came the figures. These were from Dragon and a nice set to, chosen for their poses Stephen felt they went nicely. Once everything was completed it was all fixed to the base and blended in using pigments, and there you have it a simple Diorama of a chapter in history enjoy. I particularly like the black and white photograph of this diorama.

Very nicely executed dio. Well painted and laid out plus you can understand what's going on without any explanation which shows that it works Well done Stephen.

Well done ! Waouh I like particulary the paint job on figures and the blast effect on the wall. The base ground is a bit small because of the tank position.

Another well done scene. How do you find the time to keep finishing dios? The figures really portray a sense of action & direction. But I have to agree that the base seems too small,, the Stug looks like its' gonna drive off the edge instead of coming around the building.

Wow no prisoners taken here lol with the comments, I agree with you on the base being abit small I was trying to keep it small and compact, guess it was abit to small lol. They don't always work out how you plan. As for the rest thanks for your kind words appreciate. Some of these are older dios I had on the shelf, thought I would share enjoy.
