The Trophy (Char B1 bis #309 Rhone)

  • move

The diorama is based on spectacular wartime photos of the destroyed Char B1 bis #309 "Rhone." The tank belonged to the French 37е В.С.С. of 1 D.C.R (division cuirassees de reserve). It entered combat against advancing Germans on the 15th of May 1940 in Belgium. However, on the 16th, it was abandoned and burned by its crew due to a lack of fuel in the small town Beaumont along with another five tanks of its regiment. The tank was only one and half days in combat.

This was initially the Tamiya kit. Elements of the interior and base were scratch built. I‘ve painted it with all products I have on the shelf: Tamiya, AK interactive (or AMMO), Wilder, True Earth, different pigments and oils. Figures are from Mantis Miniatures, Soga Miniatures, Stalingrad and Tank. Some figures where converted to fit the main idea.

Tim and Mike, thanks for the beer and everyone thanks for your comments! The bicycles are from MasterBox. There are both plastic and photo etched parts in the kit.

Thanks, I think that's the best 1/35th bicycle I've seen. Has anyone ever seen a more modern bicycle, e.g. a 1970s ten-speed sort of bike in that scale with the same level of detail?

Absolutely inspiring! I remember seeing the IP interior build over on missing lynx ages ago and was stunned at the detail and dedication committed to the interior. So, amazing now seeing the final presentation in all of it's glory.
