Panzer III Stalingrad

Dan's diorama shows Panzer III entering Stalingrad on a road embankment passing a disabled Soviet gun. The commander is waving the supporting infantry forward.

The Panzer III is a Tamiya kit, basically OOB. The commander is from the new Tamiya Wehrmacht tank crew set while the infantry are from a TriStar set with added rifle and MG straps from aluminum foil. The wrecked gun is an old, ill-fitting ICM kit. The road is made of Styrofoam with plaster used to form the groundwork with various scratchbuilt details like teh fence and power pole. Dan used Tamiya acrylics with lots of dry brushing for highlights. The dirt and dust are from mixing various Tamiya paints and varying air brush layers. He used Vallejo acrylics for the flesh and faces.
