1/16 Leopard 2A7

  • move
Douglas converted a Heng Long 1/16 Leopard 2A6 to 2A7 version. Douglas added a scratchbuilt APU, raised screw details and used 200 grit sandpaper cut to size as antislip surfaces, modifications around the drivers hatch and some minor changes to the rear of the hull. On the turret he replaced the kit storage boxes with 3D printed boxes, A/C unit and MG3. He also scratchbuilt the smoke grenade launcher support, right side storage box and portable display mount. Painting was done with Tamiya paints and decals are from Peddinghaus.

Great looking model of a great looking tank. It looks like a space ship. Armor guys - why are modern tanks being built with shell traps under the turret front?

Nicely done and LARGE. That'll take up some acreage on the shelf!

Could have to do with the driver being able to get in and out. Knew a guy in the Army that got his ear partially ripped off when the turret of his M-1 swung, caught his CVC and sheared it right off

Thank you Frank. Yes, it takes quite some space. But being big it delivers the feel of heavy !
