Iwo Jima Sherman

  • move
This is my 3rd Battalion Iwo Jima Sherman. Alice is a fictional tank, but everything about her is correct for a 3rd Batt. offering on Iwo Jima. She was built kit bashing two different Dragon Sherman kits I had in my stash. The drum wading kits are Tank Workshop's offering and are wonderful pieces. I had to reconfigure the rear wading stack mount to coincide with my references on 3rd Batt. Shermans. The gear on the tank was from the spares drawer and one oil can from Plus Models. The tarp was made from shim stock brass sheeting that was annealed to make it more pliable. She was finished in Tamiya and Pollyscale acrylics, with Windsor and Newton oil washes and dot filters. Rusting and dusting was done with Vallejo acrylics and MIG Pigments. And of course, Archer Transfers brings out Iwo Jima markings after I've done my builds. That figures!

Sweet job Ed. Nicely done and a great finish. Can't wait to see what is next from you. Got to love those Sherman's. The model show next years theme is Sherman's any type as long as not a rebuild. Again sweet job and well done.
