Chilean Army M113A2

  • move
This model of a Chilean Army M113A2 is an Italeri base with the addition of parts from Academy and Tamiya. The Interior was updated with scratch built parts and aftermarket items (radio and interior wires, handset and extra portable radio from Live Resin). The exterior was improved via the use of Eduard PE grilles and stowage from Meng, Legend and Tamiya. The 50cal machine gun is from Dragon, the figure is a modified Trumpeter item. The tracks are from AFV Club with the side skirts from Academy. And finally the Antenna is from Orange Hobby.

About Klaus Eberl (dexter059)
FROM: REGION DE VALPARAISO, CHILE

Active duty Chilean Navy Officer, close to 20 years of service. Happily married and 2 beautiful kids. I´ve been modelling on a regular basis since 1997. Mainly focused in "modern" armor in 1/35, but recently I’ve started with WWII subjects as well. Particularly keen on NATO and Chilean Armed Forces ...

Did you scribe in the belly plates? I've never seen that style of smoke launchers on a M113 before. Nice details.

Thanks guys Paul, belly plates are present on the Italeri kit, I've only seen this smoke launchers arrangement on Chilean Army vehicles (mainly M113's and Mowag/Cardoen Piranha II's), I'm guessing it's a local development with german support. Cheers
