Hello,

after Christmas I have begun with this kit

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I purchased last April.

As it includes Friul tracks I decided to assemble the suspension workable with this kit

Though the kit was produced in 1994, it consists of some older parts

and sprues dated from 1997 with astonishing crisp details.

Here are the bonus parts and decals

At first I softened the massive styrene Tamiya like to use with Revell' glue as it is much more aggressive than Gunze's glues I use for normal assembly.

Now it was easier to cut away the styrene inside the hull with a simple knife

Much faster the outer hull

Ready to start with the suspension parts

It was easier to begin with the non-sprung parts

The kit was a joy to build, I managed to assemble it within a few days; fiiting has been very good and there were no problems at all.

Then I applied surface primer and reworked the turret

Meanwhile I have been starting with the paint job...

Hello all,

thank you for your kind comments.

"You may find these pages useful."

No, David, you deer, I don't because it has made me feel down - I am right into the paint job...

So my first decision to leave away the periscope was right.

My special thanks to T as I have always trusted their instructions I regarded as correct.

But a comparision with their recent 48er scale Tiger which consist of nearly the same decal sheet let me begin to have some doubts about that...

Na schön, then I have to live with these inaccuracies.

Hello,

meanwhile I have finished my Tiger.

It is Nr. 213 (Oberfeldwebel Kerscher) 1944 at the Ostfront in Russia.

I have not used decals but stencils as Tamiya's decals for this vehicle are nearly completely wrong (color, number type, Balkenkreuz)

Assembly took three days only but painting much more sessions.

Hope you like the it, enjoy the few pics.

I'm impressed with your suspension scratch-building!

The only thing it lacks is a radio mast.

Hello,

and thank you all for your comments and the nice words.

"The only thing it lacks is a radio mast."

I am also a fan of this and I have some Schatton antennas in my stash (both 1,6 m and 2 m) as well as a Sternantenne by Voyager.

But I decided to save them for my other projects...

Ja, the suspension is really a nice add-on - especially for those amongst you who want to embed their model in a diorama.

Atelier Infinite also offers sets for Tiger II, Panther, even Maus and some more.

I will send some pics to you Rick, I gonna do some shots in the next days and hope to mail them on week-end at the latest.
