Ok had an idea and its mainly Jeff ( PantherF) to thank for the idea .
A Panzerjager/Jagdpanzer Campaign .
Now its not just for German machines ..anything built to kill tanks with tracks or wheels .
No towed anti tank guns ..only wheels and tracks .
Rules are pretty simple .
Anything built to kill tanks with tracks or wheels (ie trucks) from any nation .
Scales ,,1/72 to 1/16th
Time period ,,1900 to present day.
Huge fun factor must be had .
Can OOB or modded to the max .
Only non built models ..no partial builds .
Ya that should cover it

What the heck... I'm in !!!!!!!!
No matter the time frame... still in 2012 ? Next year ?
Despite the tank killer role ending during the Cold War, MBT's are allowed ?
I'm gonna go with German tank killers for sure, a Marder III / Hornisse or JadgTiger.

Hey Sal and John .. time frame is up for grabs right now ..say 25th June to 25th of November ? hows that sound ?
As for MBT's they are tanks John .. I was thinking more along the lines of tank destroyers ,,an M10 and M36 would be fine tho and of course the Firefly ,,,that is a anti tank gun in that tank and it was mainly built to deal with Germans tanks first of all ..so that counts .
A Sherman 75mm or 76mm is a MBT in todays lingo .
Marder 1/II/III/Nashorn ,any of those ..you know the drill

That's ok with me, the time frame, no problem !
I understand the MBT vs Tanks killer role, no issues there, my Marder's are itching to get on the workbench...

Huh? Err, umm ... who? Oh, it wasn't me!
Okay, okay ... I gotta Sturer Emil unbuilt and I think I bought an aluminum barrel for it (stuffed in the box) I'll have to dig out.
I have 2 1/2 of the Campaigns almost finished, so one more won't hurt! Plus I heard Trumpeters are easy ~ peasy to build.
(Plus, I have all my shelving completed)

The Emil is a nice kit ,,brought one years ago ..if i remember right it went together with out issues ,,even the tracks look good .. you shouldn't have a problem .

Yeah, I really felt bad afterwards about that.
Well, I have do a few Jagdpanzer IV kits too that need to see the light of day, so you could make it a Jagdpanzer only build if you want?
Either way I'm there!

Ok I just pulled my Dragon Kit # 6262 Panzerjager II out of my stash and looked in the box. This kit is filled with goodies
Magic Tracks
3 PE frets
Metal barrel
all sorts of storage ammo and crates and
marking and decals for 11 different vehicles
I hope this gets the required number of people I cant wait to build this kit

I will rename this thread to "Tank Destroyers" instead of using something that implies the campaign is strictly for German stuff.

Phill did say that an M10 or M36 would work too but we all know ya really gotta build a Panzerjager or a Jagdpanzer.

Oh, I know what is was used for (and what it is) but too bad it doesn't fit into this category.
That's the beauty of these SP guns ... they almost all look the same but perform different roles.

Jeff ,, ohh i totally agree .. its like the Nashorn and the Hummel ..same machine in so many respects but two totally different jobs .
Its got me thinking mate ..still have plenty of time ..name change to this proposal .
Going to make it both .. Tank destroyer/SPG campaign .
Think it might pull in more people and it will open up the choices bigtime .

You may have something there and it is your idea on the vehicles. Something I should have thought of on the StuG idea, just never thought of opening it up like that but there are 24 people who obviously agree on the subject matter so I won't try to fix something that's not broken.
I was only following suit on the "unstarted kit" rule as every other Campaign has done so. It's no big deal to me, just trying to be consistent like those before me.
But you're right ... Tank Destroyer ~ Self-Propelled Gun Campaign (or something close to that) might work better?

Count me in. I'll have to see how the second half of the year plays out as far as models go. I might be October before I start though.
I have an ASU-85 in the stash...will that work? I got it for Christmas and haven't even opened any of the sprue bags yet.

Jeff ... Decided to go with my idea and now the name has changed ..thanks to Gary for the change .
Its opened the door wider now so anything TD or SPG can join which works even better ...much more scope and larger choice .
Alex ,, ASU 85 is very welcome mate as you are fact it would very cool indeed to see that machine in here .

Sounds like a plan!
I'm rich in both TD's and SPG's so maybe a dual build there as well? Maybe one could be burned out on the side of the road or abandoned.
I gotta build down my stash or sell some stuff off.

ok, I'm in. I'm pretty sure I have a panzerjager I in the stash, but it might be a flakpanzer I, in which case I will find something else, but either way, tank killing is one of my favorite topics.
