With the incredible participation and fun that has been happening in the Panther/Jagdpanther campaign I would like to propose a King Tiger/Jagdtiger campaign running along the same lines as the Panther/Jagdpanther campaign. The rules would be;
• The model cannot be started before the campaign starts
• All items used in the build need to be identified
• All build steps need to be covered in the forum preferably in the campaign thread
• Start date would be 1st September and run for 6 to 12 months depending on requirement
• A picture of the finished model must be uploaded to the campaign gallery
• The finished model can be stand alone or placed in a diorama.
A campaign ribbon proposal will be added here shortly.

I haven't even started my Panther yet, but you know I'd be up for it! Got that Bovington KT build still on the cards...

Hmmm. Big one's ok, but the crown kinda disappears at ribbon-size.

Count me in! I never get bored of building king tigers. Banner looks good to me but yeah, the crown will disappear when shrunk down

I think it would be better with the Tiger wearing the crown?

Keep in mind that there is already a Tank Destroyer/SPG campaign starting July and ending in December that covers this area.

Thank you for pointing that out Gary. I just felt that the Panther campaign is going so well and the Tiger 1 campaign that was run also went very well, that another dedicated vehicle campaign had a good chance of being another great campaign. I will of course happily step it down or back.

Darren, I think that would work better than the first one.

Gary, i'm not trying to be funny or start an argument but I don't see how either of those campaigns are a valid point for putting this one off.

Tank destroyers/spg campaign would cover only the jagdtiger and the Big Cats II covers so many different subjects I would say its hardly similar.

The whole point of this campaign is that Darren wants to replicate what has been seen in the Panther campaign, which I think we all agree has been a great success. I can see your point that this subject is reguarly covered but it hasn't been covered how Darren is suggesting. I think we should give it a chance and see how many people are interested and I doubt it will clash too much with other campaigns if the time scale is anything like the Panther campaign.

Just my thoughts

Matt thank you for your support but Gary is obligated to point out any issues as a part of his duties and I will always bow to his interpretation of what is going on.

Well, with all do respect with what Gary is trying to mention I would join this with an Initial Turret King Tiger build I have ... in 1/16th.

I just didn't want to jump in at first because of all my other commitments but I do have time to fit this one in, once I knock off a few of my other Campaign Builds.

I do like Darren's Campaigns (he runs a tight ship) and I believe in supporting those with a good idea.

So please, let's fit this one it in as the other Campaign mentioned is a little more wide open and this one is more vehicle specific.

Hi Darren,

Well I don't have a kit that would fit but am not afraid to look at getting one lol, my only issue would be the start / finish time I would be looking at end of year start time at earliest to be in. But i think it's a great idea

Cheers Mike

Darren,

I'm definitely game for a King Tiger campaign. Thing is... I'm in 5 campaigns right now and may join more. I will echo Sal and lobby for a later start date.

Darren,Would it be "not right" to post this idea in the Panther thread and see who you get? I know that you mentioned it there awhile ago, maybe you should do it again and see who turns up?Jeff T.

No way I can object if the campaign leader of Big Cats II is hot to join this campaign as well!

I don't have any problems with campaigns on similar subjects as long as people are aware of the other campaigns but there are still enough who want to enlist.

I think I will join in on this pride of cats. I will propose to build a Jagdtiger. The length of this campaign should be more than 6 months. I am involved with several gbs.

Gary, I don't have any problems for similar subjects, as long as people don't use the same kit for both Campaigns.
Also I still don't know the time frame, hope to get started in 2013, otherwise I'm over my share of Campaigns for now.

Let's see how it turns out !
