A new kit on the way from Dragon Models will help evacuate the wounded from the front line using a halftrack.

Very cool idea. I'm guessing the maintenance shop truck variant won't be far off.

It was used as a radio vehicle, repair workshop, staff vehicle, etc. Italeri had a similar vehicle, a radio truck, based on an Opel Blitz chassis (long out of production). I will defitiely be getting this one. There are very few ambulances available in 1/35 injection molded plastic. Dragon has the Medical Kuebelwagen that includes medics, wounded soldiers, a doctor and nurse figure. It's very nice and would compliment this vehicle perfectly. I would expect that Italeri will combine thier Maultier and old Opel Blitz shelter truck kits and release a kit similar to this one (at an outrageous price)....that is only my humble opinion.

Way to go DML....This is really thinking "outside the box"!

Forgot to ask, although it's probably still too early to tell. Does this Maultier kit also come with the extra parts to build a Blitz as does the earlier Maltier kit?

Another good question! Unfortunately, one I can't answer. This thing is fantastic though! Didn't we spot this lurking around in the background of one of Volstad's art works before? So much diorama potential.

It could get pretty claustrophobic in there with a full 9 stretcher configuration and the limited side door access. Would hate to be in there while under threat of allied fighter-bomber/jabo attack, yeesh!!

A Dodge ambulance would have been more welcome IMO, while the italeri kit is not bad for its age, a modern tooling of this one would be nice.
