I wonder if this is the old ESCI 32nd scale one one that used to come with a Volvo Primemover in 32nd? From memory it was in a bright reed plastic. It certainly looks to be the same

Al it is listed as 100% all new moulds which would indicate it is not.

Quite simple to find out: just recalcullating the models dimensions!

20 Ft x 25,4 cm = 5,08 m
scale 1/32 would give a model of 15,8 cm (approx.)
scale 1/35 would give a model of 14,5 cm (approx.)

My "Scale Mate" Android app, gives this:
20 ft @ 1:35 = 17.417142857cm
The Italeri site gives this:
Model Dim.: 17,4 cm
So that makes it 1/35.

20ft = 6.096 metres, not 5.08 metres.
(1 ft = 30.480cm, you confused it with 1 inch = 2.54cm)

I would say that's because they're built to an international standard, so they all look the same no matter who made it, that goes for the real thing and the model.

It's not a sexy new release, but man, these TEU's are in the background scene of pratically every base in every modern conflict. Great diorama potential - they can add both colour and legit extreme weathering to any scene.

Great release. They look to be of good quality. It is definitely not the old Esci 1/32 one. I have used Esci's with 1/35 kits before. They were a little soft on details, but not bad. The parts layout is totally different then Esci's. Also, the locking mechanisms on the doors were molded onto the Esci doors. In the pics of these, they are nicely done as separate parts. These look great. I'll be getting a few for sure.

This is a great release I think. Nice alternative to the (more expensive I guess) resin ones already on the market. And it looks nicely detailed. Really usefull for many modern dioramas!

We called these "Conex boxes" in the 1990-91 Gulf War,but I recall some references to them being used as field command posts during the Vietnam War.

Sorry man got no money left anymore for beer because I spend everything on prepping for the day when zombies from outer space come to earth to eat all the money of the world after the Yellowstone supervulcano has erupted blocking the sunlight and throwing the earth out of it's orbit. Haven't you heard man! I's going to be every man for himself and it will possibly happen this year or maybe next year but it will superdefinately undoubtedly happen.... Sure of it.

Oh.....Okay. I guess that's a good reason. Brooklyn's already under siege by zombie hordes. They're parentally subsidized, skinny chick jeans, Dinty Moore lumberjack shirt, wool ski caps and neckscarf in the summer wearing, pipe cleaner armed, cocktail toothpick physiqued, Like, Yah-stafarian, 35 year old teenagers from flyover states, more commonly known as hipsters. You can come over and freeload my suds anytime. I'm considering doing this because, if you knew how expensive it is to live in New York, it's way cheaper than renting:

I wonder is it's worthwhile for a resin company to make some alternate pattern doors and end panels? It would allow a modeller to make some variations if they are putting 2-3 in a dio or base.

Why? There's only one type. There are no variations. They are all constructed to a single standard. Google "metal shipping containers" and you'll see for yourself.

I'll have to have a few of these. We had an underground ammo bunker in Afghanistan made from one. They also make great roadside market.

As for the prepper loony comment, well - I just sold the Zombie Killer today. A friend of mine needed a vehicle, and mine fit his needs. Of course he didn't get the bullet proof door liners, the ammo, MRE's ,or any of the other items it had. I'll miss that thing.
