Jan Willem Fischer builds a great looking Merkava. Check out his build and see how he achieved the realistic look of his battle chariot in 1/35 scale; all explained in this painting step by step feature.

JW does a great job on IDF stuff. I remember his M113 Chatap and it was a work of art. I'm glad to see him making this sort of articles explaining his techniques.

Thanks JW!

Thank you guys for the kind words. I am glad to hear you guys like the article. I know when I started modelling I was always looking for good step by steps so making some now have learned a little is a nice way to sort of give back if you know what I mean.

@ Mario

Maybe I'll get around to do something with M-113 Chatap in future along the same lines.

Cheers and thanks JW.

PS,

I never realised it before but it looks like I am flipping the bird in the profile picture in the feature

Droid!?! Makes me think of Star Wars and a search droid that Darth Vader sent.

Thx

Windbreaker is the Hebrew name for the Trophy ADS, which this is not. This particular system is still classified =.

Thank you. Still, would be nice to know what it does to protect the tank/vehicle? Which company does the best AfterMarket copy?

Hi guy,

I recieved this message from tdeimling about the way I stained the tracks.

Quoted Text

Janwillem, I was educated as a chemist before I began practicing medicine. Because of my background I was shocked that you chose to combine these two solutions and then write off the inherent risks by saying "Do it outdoors". The chlorine gas produced is at most potentially fatal and at least very dangerous.

Might you consider amending your post by strengthening your warning by saying it is not a safe practice?

On the other side of the coin, I have looked for easier ways to deal with coloring Fruilmodel tracks for years. But your method and the selenium used as an ingredient in Blacken-it are not really safe for your health.

So be very careful.

A big thank you to tdeimling for the warning
