One thing you might notice when you visit WarWheels.net is that I try to list out the new WFV/Armored Car related kits/aftermarket/references in our "what's new section".

Well, in my opinion it seems like we're in a golden age of modeling due to the large number of high quality products we're seeing (generally and specifically to WFV modeling).

I'll start off with saying that one of my favorites has been the 1/35 Hobby Boss Dana 152mm SPG.

So, what has been your favorite kit/product released in the past year or two?

Great topic Patrick....

I completely agree that we are in a 'golden age' for modeling. The rate of releases far outpaces our ability to build. We keep buying and keep stashing....lol

I do believe that those of us in our late 30's, 40's, and 50's with disposable income are driving the current market. New model builders are not going to come into the hobby to replace our consumer spending habits fast enough for the current rate of releases to be sustained long term. Young people just aren't drawn to model building due to the 'digital' age.

Having made that long winded statement, how do you pick a favorite kit. Manufacturers are covering so many great subjects...BTR series from Trumpeter, the Russian 'Tiger' by Meng, Strykers by AFV Club and Trumpeter...HMMWV's from Bronco, MRAPs by Panda and Kinetic, various Chinese and Japanese wheeled AFV's by Trumpeter, Bronco has done many, many WWII wheeled AFV's as well.

Although I'm not buying much outside of the HMMWV realm, WFV modelers sure do have a lot to be excited about.

Is the Dingo out yet? If not, when is it slated to appear? Obviously I'm asking as I need to get one; and the new Fennek coming out too.

Also don't forget that sadly these up-coming generations have much less of that disposable income in general.

Heck, as a single male early 20's with a decent $40k job I was probably blowing at least a grand or two a year on the hobby.

Got married, got laid off, and now I only dream of being able to buy that stuff.

Median household income is declining, sadly

i have the meng GAZ TIGER, built the EBR-10 (very fiddley wheel attachements and some insanely small pe) and have the 11 which is even uglier. my DANA is basee coated and awaiting a warmer day in the bunker to silly putty and camo.
the icm G-4 staff cars look like fun. i have one of those
