Finally I got some work done.

This is as far as I have gon sofar.
The bottom of the trail arms are quite detailed.
There is some seam filling that will have to be done on the axle & spring.
The Trail arms are marked left & right so you don't mix them up, they are quite similar looking.
I left off the pioneer tools until after painting.

Nice start Donald. Missed the release of this, so this is fist images Ive seen of the model. Looks great. What is the finished length and width? Would be a cool center piece for a 1/16 dio.

Frank,

Link to some OOB shots I took when the kit first came out.

I wonder if hooking this to the M16 multi-gun motor carriage as though the US had captured it might be too far fetched?

Donald, I really liked your M198 build - I have that kit too. I'll be following this one closely as well.

According to the box the finished model in transport mode is approximatly 5 inches wide & 23 inches long. I wont have any size for the spread of the trails untill I get them assembled.

Finished adding the trails to the axle. Had to scratch build new locking levers for the spades.

The locks for the spades that are supplied with the kit are way to thick. The ones shown on the box art look just right, I wonder what happened there?

I Just got the Gun cradle mounted to the gun carriage, it was a real tight fit.

I'm still working on the small parts and chroming the gun barrel and breach block.

Just to let you know,
I'm in the final detailing and assembly stages of this kit.
I'll have more pictures coming in a couple of days if not sooner.
They will be in both travel, and firing modes.

Here is a top view of the gun in the fireing position.

Notice the Red & White striped rangeing stakes on the trail side, the Box Art showes rhe wrong ones painted this way. The pointy ones should be striped.
