I'll have to give that dark yellow primer a try. I wish I knew more about soldering to make an assesment there. I need a descent beginers iron for some large PE sets in my stash. This iron reminds me of the foam cutter I got from Harbor Freight for my first project here, surviving through my diorama base shaping then never working again.

The Dark Yellow is pretty good, not as green as Vallejo's. It does have more "tooth" to it and sands easily. The grit isn't noticeable with a coat of paint on it. Not as impressed with the Black, it doesn't seem to coat as well as the Grey and Dark Yellow.

Invest in a variable temperature soldering station if you ever want to do PE , that's the only way to go . And if you want to solder stay away from Eduard's nickel plated PE .

I thin AK primers with Tamiya X-20A acrylic thinner if needed, works for me. They lay down very smooth (the black primer also) no grainy effect, no clogging etc.

If you were referring to me, I should have specified I hand brush. There's a translucent quality to the Black that doesn't happen with the other two and needs constant stirring otherwise you can see grey swirls forming. It might just be a bad batch, who knows?

I have a question about the ak chipping fluid. I currently use tamiya acrylics. Can I use the ak chipping fluid with these paints, or will it only work with ak paints?
