G'day everyone,
I have been plodding along with Meng's excellent D9R dozer for a while now. Not content with any of the real world options offered (IDF or USMC) I opted for a "what if?" scenario.
A D9R in a post apocalyptic world that has been put to use by bandits, as a means to intimidate or flatten someone or something that does not agree with them.

Paint so far has been multiple layers of paint and chipping solution, progress so far:

Rust and bare metal layers

Chipping and scratches galore! As I am typing this the final paintwork is drying and will upload more pictures later on.

That's looking very cool, I'll be following along to see what she ends up looking like.

Looking good so far. Any specific plans on Mad Maxing it? Strapping people to the front? Half battle armoured people crewing it ?(OK most of the "armour" from Mad Max 2, did look like American football equipment covered in animals skins).

You've done a nice job on it. I must admit though, from the title, I was expecting to see something a bit more radical. You know, like wire mesh over broken windows, spikey things all over to discourage people climbing on it, garish graffiti, etc... As it sits, it kind of just looks like a well worn Caterpillar with a minigun mount.

Still have to "Mad Max" it up, wire mesh over the windows and barbed wire on the blade and a few other bits.

This is where I have it as of now.

So yeah, still a little bit more work to go. The pinstriping was from a 1/25 scale car kit.

ANT do a /35th 'post apocalyptic girl' set and one is tied to the hood of a truck, or a dozer blade in this case. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Jason,

I love what you are doing here and I can't wait to see it in a diorama somehow. The weathering is looking great. I can see the whole idea working out as a Mad Max style scene.

I'm following now!

Jason,

Just wondering if you have gotten any further with this project?
