An update out of Italeri has a BMP-1 on the way in what could just be a new tooling.

I hope they release it with a choice of "rubber band" or indi-links.I have been put off kits in the past because i CANNOT do indie-s !.If they cater for all tastes i can definitely see some of my cash going their way.

Normally I'd be right there with you, but Italeri's "rubber band" tracks are anything but rubber. They're stiff enough, they actually make pretty good pool-side diving boards for small animals and children.
A nice bimp would be welcome, though.

Trumpeter already has a nice BMP-1. I built one not too long ago, very detailed with few issues.

I remain skeptical that this is a new kit. I don't have a special interest in whether it is or not, since I have the Trumpeter kit already, but Esci had a BMP-1 in its line (I have one too), so the possibility remains that this is simply a repop of that.

Damon.

Already discussed here :

Why are we assuming its new tooling from a single drawing?
I'm with the guys suspicious about this being a reboxing of "ancient" kits...

I agree that Italeri would have a ways to go to improve on the Trumpeter kit. However, if Italeri included an interior (and presuming the rest of the kit is acceptable), then I think they could find a place in the market with this kit. Maybe all of the hatches are open in the artwork for that reason?
