I'm after an extended M34 mantlet for the Sherman tank in 1/35 scale but am coming up short in all the usual aftermarket avenues.

If you're not familiar it was an interim measure to install a telescopic gun sight in the early style sherman mantlet before the more common M34A1 became available.
Although not common in WW2 its still a vital part of sherman pedigree and as such I'd have expected someone to make one.

Preferably at a decent price and available in australia, but beggars can't be choosers!

I dint think anyone makes it... you might have to make it yourself. Tiger Models Design make some excellent mantlets but not the one you are looking for. It shouldn't be too hard to scratch it...

Yes have been looking at TMD and CMK M34 mantlets, not impossible, but certainly awkward to scratch!

A bit of scrap sheet plastic and some Tamiya putty and a bit of time and patience. A fairly easy beginner's conversion project.

On that note, if I have uncovered a 'gap' in the otherwise comprehensive Sherman market, would anyone be interested in a master for casting if I made one?
I can go as far as the moulds but I struggle to get good consistency in my resin pours.
Also am considering making up a conversion set for E9 suspension as this also seems to be a bit of an overlooked area previously.

I think I would cut one side off the A1 mantlet and add the details needed.

Unfortunately the shapes aren't that similar Jeff, with the flat and angle portions being 'reversed' for want of a better term.
