Greetings! Can the Tamiya M21 and M3A2 half track kits rear and sidewalls be swapped to build correct vehicles? M21 and M3A2 half tracks?

Yes. Just make sure that you trim off the vertical brackets for the rod stowage racks at the front and rear edge of the M21 kit sidewalls before you swap them with your proposed M3A1. Then you'd have pretty good M21 and M3A1.

If you've not acquired either yet and don't mind the extra expense of the Dragon kits -- I highly recommend those instead. Much more detailed and accurate than the old Tamiya kits.

Otherwise, your plan is basically sound.
