Having trouble figuring out the markings for a vehicle from Australia's 11th Division Divisional Carrier Company in the Pacific Theater. Can anyone point me toward a useful resource?

The pictures of the knocked out Buna ones don't show any markings but given the ad hoc nature of their issue for that campaign that is not surprising

So close! That's a perfect reference except the link for the image for carrier companies is broken so the image won't display!

Apparently it comes from a book that is also out of print and no longer available!

You have to take into account these would not be Vehicle Markings and are formation patches for Uniforms. Most likely any formation patch for the Vehicle would be the 11 Div Badge (Palm) with an Aos for the other side.

Good point. Thanks. AOS stands for?

Arm Of Service - a plate on the opposite side of the vehicle with a numerical designator identifying the unit. It can be 1,2,3,4 or even a number over 3 digits and colours vary depending on roles and type of unit. I have no idea what the AOS for the Carrier company under a Jungle Division would be however

I would be surprised if there were any markings other than the Div Marking (if at all) given the conditions in NG.

What are you planning to base this on as the Australian Pattern Carriers are quite different from the kits available?

Have a Tamiya UC I was planning to enter in the Pacific + 70 years campaign. Don't have much for specs or research to go from, so was planning to do pretty much an OOB build apart from the markings. Be happy to take any input on what it should look like.

again I suggest the Australian War Memorial Museum site as there are plenty of Aust. LP carrier photos in the collection.

My first search of the AWM didn't turn up anything, but having taken another crack at it I finally figured out how to operate the search engine and was able to turn up some photos. Unfortunately, nothing of the 11th; but hopefully enough to come up with something reasonable.
