It's been a couple of years since the last Jeep campaign. Anyone up for a repeat? I would think it would include Jeeps and their equivalents from any countries or eras. What do you all think?

Given the current schedule I'd guess starting around November and going for six months. If enough people are interested...

If larger scales are allowed I'd be willing to have a go at it.

Larger or smaller scales are fine by me. I like to be inclusive in these campaigns. I normally even allow started kits up to a point.

Perfect timeframe, count me in. Willys MB or "etc." (Kübel/Schwimmwagen) -- not decided yet.

How do these look for a description and rules. Too vague?

JEEP! The name conjures up many pictures. The utility vehicle has been a feature of mechanized armies the world over and has filled many roles including (but certainly not limited to!): personnel transport, VIP transport, ambulance, fast strike, towing, police, guidance, etc., etc. The most well known of these vehicles is the ubiquitous WWII Jeep; but many different types have been used for similar jobs in other armies and at other times. This campaign is about those small but essential motorized miracles.

1. Entry must be a small utility vehicle in any guise at any time.
2. No what-ifs.
3. Any scale and any nationality that fits into rule 1.
4. Models can be stand-alone or in a diorama.
5. Enter as many as you like but each modeler will only get one ribbon.
6. Models must be no more that 25% started at beginning of campaign and you must post at least one photo of where your kit is at the start of the campaign in the campaign thread.
7. At least two in progress shots of each model should be posted in the campaign thread and at least two finished shots in the campaign gallery.
8. Oh yeah, have fun!

Sal,

I guess I'd have to answer your question with a question: which Horch? If you're talking the Medium car 901, then I'd say yes. If you mean the heavy car 108, probably not.

Jeep! … first stick-shift vehicle I ever drove ... uhhh ... gear-banged!

I have a Bronco ‘US GPW 1/4t 4x4 Mod. 1942 Jeep’ in the stash just itching to get built, so maybe I’ll roll-up my Allied sleeves for a change and get busy on this one.

Sal,

I think that's the big one. Off the top of my head, I'd say it's too big for this campaign. But I'm willing to be corrected if the rest of the members tell me I'm off.

I think that's at least 10 all, I'm going to submit and see what the Campaign brass has to say!

Maybe it would make sense to introduce a max. curb weight to the rules, let's say 2,75t (6000lbs) max., which would e.g. mean M998, Dodge WC54 or Horch 901 in, Horch 108 or other s.E.Pkw out.

With "jeep" I personally would even rather associate a much more lightweight utility vehicle, let's say max. 2t curb weight (less than 4500lbs). A HMMWV, WC54 or even Horch 901 in my eyes is a light truck. "Jeep" is something more along the Willys MB, Kübelwagen, Kurogane or M151 lines, I'd think.

Jorge,

The latter is more what I was thinking about. What does everyone else think, a 2t/4500lb limit (at least for the base vehicle)?

Well, to me "jeep" its a Jeep campaing.

Maybe isn't necessary to change the name to GP campaing.

The etc, includes a lot.
